SEQUENCE OF CONSTRUCTION
The General Contractor will be responsible for implementing the following Erosion and Sediment Control
and Storm Water Management control measures. The General Contractor may designate these tasks to
specific Subcontractors as necessary, but the ultimate responsibility for implementing these controls and
ensuring their proper functioning remains with the General Contractor. Any designation of specific
Construction Activity to a specific Subcontractor shall be documented on Form C -3 in the SWPPP.
The order of activities will be as follows (refer to the Erosion and Sediment Control Plan Sheet ES l
contained in this SWPPP for details):

A) A PRE CONSTRUCTION MEETING SHALL BE HELD BY THE LOWE'S PROJECT
MANAGER AND THE OPERATOR'S ENGINEER PRIOR TO LAND DISTURBING
ACTIVITIES.
B) INSTALL PERIM ETER PROTECTION MEASURES IN THE LOCATIONS SHOWN ON
THE SW PPP PLAN SHEET.
C) INSTALL INLET PROTECTION AT THE LOCATIONS OF ALL GRATE INLETS AND
CURB INLETS SHOWN ON THE SWPPP PLAN SHEET.
D) INSPECTION BY LOWE'S CONSTRUCTION MANAGER, ENGINEERING MANAGER
OR DESIGN ENGINEER UPON CONTRACTOR'S NOTIFICATION.

EROSION SEDIMENT CONTROL NOTES
1. LAND DISTURBING ACTIVITIES SHALL NOT COMMENCE UNTIL APPROVAL TO DO SO HAS
BEEN RECEIVED BY GOVERNING AUTHORITIES.
2. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL STRICTLY ADHERE TO THE STORM WATER POLLUTION
PREVENTION PLAN (SWPPP) DURING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES.
3. NO LAND CLEARING OR GRADING SHALL BEGIN UNTIL ALL PERIMETER SEDIMENT CONTROL
MEASURES HAVE BEEN INSTALLED.
4. ALL EXPOSED AREAS SHALL BE SEEDED AS SPECIFIED WITHIN 14 DAYS OF FINAL GRADING.
5. SHOULD CONSTRUCTION STOP FOR LONGER THAN 14 DAYS, THE SITE SHALL BE SEEDED
AS SPECIFIED.
6. SEDIMENT AND EROSION CONTROL MEASURES SHALL BE INSPECTED AT LEAST ONCE EVERY
SEVEN (7) CALENDAR DAYS AND WITHIN 24 HOURS OF 0.5 INCHES RAINFALL OR GREATER
DURING A 24 HOUR PERIOD OR MORE FREQUENTLY IF REQUIRED BY GOVERNING AGENCY.
ALL MAINTENANCE REQUIRED BY INSPECTION SHALL COMMENCE WITHIN 24 HOURS AND BE
COMPLETED WITHIN 48 HOURS OF REPORT.
7. THIS PLAN SHALL NOT BE CONSIDERED ALL INCLUSIVE AS THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL
TAKE ALL NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS TO PREVENT SEDIMENT FROM LEAVING THE SITE.
8. GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLY WITH ALL STATE AND LOCAL. ORDINANCES THAT APPLY.
9. ADDITIONAL EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL MEASURES WILL BE INSTALLED BY THE
CONTRACTOR AS DEEMED NECESSARY BY SITE INSPECTIONS.
10. GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE TO TAKE WHATEVER MEANS NECESSARY TO
ESTABLIST PERMANENT SOIL STABIUZATION.
11. SEDIMENT SHALL BE REMOVED FROM SEDIMENT BASIN AND SEDIMENT FENCE WHEN IT IS 25% FULL
12. ALL WORK TO BE DONE IN STRICT ACCORDANCE WITH DIVISION 2 OF LOWE'S STANDARD SITE
SPECIFICATIONS.
13. ALL PROPOSED GRADES SHOWN ARE FINISHED GRADE ELEVATIONS.
14. EROSION CONTROL DEVICES TO BE INSTALLED PRIOR TO COMMENCING EARTHWORK.
EROSION CONTROL DEVICES TO BE MAINTAINED BY THE CONTRACTOR UNTIL UPSTREAM
GROUNDCOVER HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED AND REMOVAL IS APPROVED BY THE OWNER'S
REPRESENTATIVE.
15. SILT FENCE SHALL BE INSTALLED PER THE DETAIL THE BASE OF THE SILT FENCE SHALL
BE EXCAVATED SO AS TO PROVIDE AN AREA TO BURY THE BOTTOM OF THE FABRIC AT
LEAST 6 INCHES INTO THE GROUND. THE STAKES SHALL BE DRIVEN TO A DEPTH THAT
WILL PLACE THE BOTTOM FABRIC AT THE BOTTOM OF THE TRENCH. THEN BACKFILL
THE BOTTOM FABRIC ON BOTH SIDES WITH THE MATERIAL THAT WAS EXCAVATED.
16. TEMPORARY SEEDING SHALL CONSIST OF LIME 1/2 TON PER ACRE, FERTILIZER
5 -10-10 600 POUNDS PER ACRE, RYEGRASS (ANNUAL OR PERENNIAL) 40 POUNDS
PER ACRE AND STRAW MULCH 2 TONS PER ACRE. JUTE MESH SHALL BE PLACED OVER
MULCH AND STAKED OR EROSION CONTROL MATTING SHALL BE USED, WHENEVER
WINDS OR SLOPE WILL CAUSE THE MULCH AND SEED TO BECOME DEPLETED OR ERODED.
17. DISTURBED AREAS SHALL BE AS SMALL AS PRACTICAL DISTURBED AREAS SHALL BE
RESTORED, IMPROVED OR TEMPORARILY STABILIZED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
18. CONTRACTOR SHALL TAKE THE NECESSARY MEASURES, INCLUDING WATER SPRINKLING,
TO PROVIDE DUST CONTROL DURING CONSTRUCTION.
19. CONSTRUCT TEMPORARY DIVERSION SWALES WHERE NECESSARY TO ENSURE THAT SLOPES
AND AREAS THAT ARE PROPOSED FOR PAVEMENT WILL REMAIN STABLE DURING CONSTRUCTION.
20. REFER TO LANDSCAPE PLAN FOR PERMANENT SEEDING SPECIFICATIONS.
MAINTENANCE
ALL MEASURES STATED ON THIS EROSION AND SEDIMENTATION CONTROL PLAN, SHALL BE
MAINTAINED IN FULLY FUNCTIONAL CONDITION UNTIL NO LONGER REQUIRED FOR A
COMPLETED PHASE OF WORK OR FINAL STABIUZATION OF THIS SITE. ALL EROSION AND
SEDIMENTATION CONTROL MEASURES SHALL BE CHECKED BY A QUALIFIED PERSON IN
ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS OR THE APPLICABLE PERMIT, WHICHEVER
IS MORE STRINGENT, AND REPAIRED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING:
1. ALL EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL PRACTICES WILL BE CHECKED FOR STABIUTY AND
OPERATION FOLLOWING EVERY 1/2' OF PRECIPITATION OR AT LEAST ONCE EVERY WEEK.
ANY NEEDED REPAIRS WILL BE MADE IMMEDIATELY TO MAINTAIN ALL PRACTICES AS DESIGNED.
2. INLET PROTECTION DEVICES AND BARRIERS SHALL BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED IF THEY
SHOW SIGNS OF UNDERMINING, DETERIORATION OR WHEN STORAGE CAPACITY HAS
BEEN APPROXIATELY 50% FILLED.
3. ALL SEEDED AREAS SHALL BE CHECKED REGULARLY TO SEE THAT A GOOD STAND IS
MAINTAINED. AREAS SHOULD BE FERTILIZED, WATERED AND RESEEDED AS NEEDED.
