This notice serves to inform you that a temporary sign(s) violation has been brought to this department's attention.
Pursuant to Carmel Clay Zoning Ordinance Section 25.07.01-04 Prohibited Signs, BUSINESSES ARE NOT
PERMITTED TO DISPLAY TEMPORARY SIGNS, Carmel Clay Zoning Ordinance Section 25.07.01-04
considers the following to be prohibited:
Signs consisting of banners, posters, pennants, ribbons, streamers, strings of light
bulbs, spinners or similar devices, unless they are permitted specifically by other
sections of this Ordinance.
g) Signs which swing or otherwise noticeably move as a result of wind pressure
because of the manner of their suspension or attachment and whose movement can
be construed as dangerous by the Administrator.
j) Portable signs which are portable or moveable, except as permitted under provisions
of this section.
k) Signs which are established on trees, utility poles and fences.
o) Lighter than air advertising devices.
This notice shall serve as the first and final warning for this type of violation. Failure to remove this sign will
result in further enforcement action which could include a summons to court, associated fines and court costs.

Good afternoon, Laura and Rachel,
As you know, Steve Mears and I were investigating the sign permit violation at the above -
referenced address and the possibility of requesting a sign variance for excess square
footage for Mr. Slavin's business, Just Trucks & Cars Performance/Accessories.
Subsequent to our investigation, we have advised Mr. Slavin that, in our opinion, a sign
variance would be difficult to obtain and that we would not file the petition for him.
We appreciate your assistance in this matter.

RE: ZONING ORDINANCE VIOLATION — SIGN PERMIT
Dear Sir or Madam:
This letter is being provided to inform you that a sign violation has been brought to this
departments attention. The sign(s) is located at 4004 W. 961" Street, in the City of Carmel. All
signs located in Clay Township are required to comply with the what was approved as part of the
sign permit approval according to Section 25.07 of the Carmel/Clay Zoning Ordinance.
The signs that are currently being displayed exceed the allowable square footage for this Unified
Center, also the signs, as they are currently displayed, do not match the elevations that were
approved as part of the sign permit approval. Therefore, the signs are currently in violation of the
permit approval and subject to further enforcement action, which may include the revocation of
your sign permit and/or a summons into Carmel City Court. To avoid further enforcement action,
you must return the sign to match the approved elevations submitted as part of your sign permit
application, or remove the new sign no later than April 3, 2009. If you have any questions
