Q. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE by PUMPING OR OTHER SUITABLE METHODS
ANY WATER WHICH MAY ACCUMULATE IN TRENCHES.

V. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE THE ENGINEER WITH 'AS bUILT"
LOCATIONS AND INFORMATION FOR ALL SANITARY SEWER LATERALS WITHIN
TEN DAYS AFTER COMPLETION. THESE PLANS SHALL BE SUBMITTED TO THE
PROJECT ENG INEER.
W. MANHOLE VACUUM TESTING SHALL COMPLY WITH ASTM C- 1244 -93. MANHOLES SHALL
bE VACUUM TESTED AFTER COMPLETE ASSEMBLY OF THE MANHOLE, INCLUDING THE
MANHOLE FRAME. CONTRACTOR SHALL PLUG ALL PIPE OPENINGS, TAKING CARE TO
SECURELY BRACE bOTH THE PLUGS AND THE PIPES. WITH THE VACUUM TESTER IN
PLACE, CONTRACTOR SHALL INFLATE THE COMPRESSION RAND TO 40 psi TO EFFECT
A SEAL BETWEEN THE TESTER BASE AND THE FRAME. THE VACUUM PUMP SHALL BE
CONNECTED TO THE OUTLET PORT WITH THE VALVE OPEN. VACUUM SHALL DE DRAWN
T0 10Hg 10 inches of mercury AND THE VALVE CLOSED. THE TEST SHALL PASS IF
THE VACUUM REMAINS AT 10Hg OR DROPS TO 9Hg IN A TIME EXCEEDING ONE MINUTE
U. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL bE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL TESTS FOR
INFILTRATION /EXFILTRATION AND DEFLECTION AS ESTABLISHED bY THE
THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT AND THE INDIANAPOLIS
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS. THE RATE OF INFILTRATION INTO THE SANITARY
SEWER SYSTEM BETWEEN ANY TWO ADJACENT MANHOLES, OR THE ENTIRE
SYSTEM, SHALL NOT BE IN EXCESS OF 100 GALLONS PER INCH OF PIPE DIAMETER
PER MILE PER DAY (100 GPO/IN/MILE).
A FIVE PERCENT (5%) MANDREL DEFLECTION TEST SHALL bE PERFORMED ON ALL PVC,
HOPE AND TRUSS PIPE GRAVITY SANITARY SEWER PIPE. THE MANDRELL SHALL BE
PULLED THROUGH ALL SEWER LINES IN A MANNER ACCEPTABLE TO ENGINEER, AND ANY
SECTION OF SEWER NOT PASSING THE MANDREL SHALL bE UNCOVERED, REPLACED, OR
REPAIRED TO ENGINEER'S SATISFACTION AND RETESTED.
ALL TESTING SHALL bE COMPLETED AFTER FINAL bACKFILL HA5 bEEN IN PLACE
AT LEAST 30 DAYS AND SHALL bE OBSERVED bY A PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER
FOR CERTIFICATION WITHIN FORTY DAYS AFTER COMPLETION. ANY
PORTIONS NOT PASSING SAID TESTS FOR ACCEPTANCE SHALL BE REPAIRED
OR REPLACED AT THE CONTRACTOR 5 EXPENSE, INCLUDING REEXCAVATION
