An inspection revealed that the concern appears to be valid and that the property is in violation of the Carmel City Code §6.222 B: (6) Accessory structures. All accessory structures, including detached garages, fences and walls, shall be maintained structurally sound and repaired as to not be dangerous, unsafe, unsanitary or otherwise unfit for human use; or shall not be an invitation to children and endanger the lives of such children, or which because of its condition has become a fire hazard and shall not be installed or located such that they cause, create or result in or represent the potential to cause, create or result in a Detriment. Furthermore, this letter is being provided to inform you that the property is in violation of Carmel City Codes § 6-88(c): (c) Requirement to cut. All owners of real property ("property") located within the City shall cut and remove weeds and other rank vegetation growing thereon that exceeds an average height of six inches, and shall keep their property clear of debris. The current condition of the fence and the grass growing from your property onto the public sidewalk is a property maintenance issue as per the above quoted City Code. Please have the grass at the front of the property abutting the sidewalk mowed by August 16, 2009. Please have the fence repaired by August 20, 2009. Failure to resolve the violations by the specified deadlines will result in further enforcement action by the City of Carmel. This letter shall serve as the FINAL WARNING for this violation.
