The sign(s) advertises for Carmel Suzuki, located at 510 South Rangeline Road, in the City of Carmel, a property listed under your ownership. BUSINESSES ARE NOT PERMITTED TO DISPLAY TEMPORARY SIGNS, BANNERS, OR STREAMERS regardless of whether or not the sign is located on the business's premises. According to Section 25.07.01-4 Prohibited Signs, of the Carmel/Clay Zoning Ordinance the following sign(s) are prohibited: (f) Signs consisting of banners, posters, pennants, ribbons, streamers, strings of light bulbs, spinners or similar devices, unless they are permitted specifically by other sections of this Ordinance. (i) Signs which are located upon, over, or in any street or highway right-of- way, except for official highway signs; Q) Portable signs which are portable or moveable, except as permitted under provisions of this section. (k) Signs which are established on trees, utility poles, or fences. (1) Signs which advertise goods, products, services or facilities or direct persons to a different location (or to a telephone number at a different location) from where the sign is installed. (Off -premise signs require a Developmental Standards Variance from the Board of Zoning Appeals.) The only banners specifically permitted are outlined in Section 25.07.04 Permitted Banners of the Ordinance and are as follows: Grand Opening Banners: A banner for grand openings may be erected no more than fourteen (14) days prior to the date the business first opens to the general public and shall be removed no more than seven (7) days after the date the business first opens. Interim Signage Pending Permanent Sign: A temporary banner attached securely to the wall of a building on all corners shall be permitted until a permanent sign is erected. The temporary banner must satisfy the applicable regulations concerning maximum sign area ONE CIVIC SQUARE CARMEL, INDIANA 46032 317/571-2417 and location, and a sign permit is required. The temporary banner shall not be displayed for more than ninety (90) days following the issuance of the sign permit, unless the Administrator for good cause shown grants an extension of time not to exceed ninety (90) days. Furthermore, this letter is being provided to inform you that the display of vehicles for sale in the public right-of-way is prohibited as per Carmel City Code Chapter 6-59, which states: No person shall use any street, sidewalk or other public place for thCopy display or sale of goods or merchandise, or write or affix any signs � advertisements on any pavement. Additionally, this letter is being provided to inform you that the flashing open sign on your property is in violation of the Zoning Ordinance. BUSINESS SIGNS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO MOVE OR FLASH IN ANY MANNER. According to Section 25.07.01-4 Prohibited Signs, of the Carmel/Clay Zoning Ordinance the following sign(s) are prohibited: e) Signs which move by design or have a major moving part. This letter shall serve as the final warning for this type of violation. Beginning July 13, 2009, any further violations of the above -referenced codes or ordinances will be documented and citations will be written, requiring your appearance in Carmel City Court.
