SILT FENCE MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS 1. INSPECT THE SILT FENCE PERIODICALLY AND AFTER EACH STORM EVENT. 2. IF FABRIC TEARS, STARTS TO DECOMPOSE, OR IN ANY WAY BECOMES INEFFECTIVE, REPLACE THE AFFECTED PORTION IMMEDIATELY. 3. REMOVE DEPOSITED SEDIMENT WHEN IT REACHES HALF THE HEIGHT OF THE FENCE AT ITS LOWEST POINT OR IS CAUSING THE FABRIC TO BULGE. 4. TAKE CARE TO AVOID UNDERMINING THE FENCE DURING CLEAN OUT. 5. INTO THE STREET TO INTERCEPT THE RUNOFF. 4. IF USING MORE THAN ONE ROW, OVERLAP THE BAGS WITH THE ROW BENEATH, AND LEAVE A ONE -BAG GAP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TOP ROW TO SERVE AS A SPILLWAY. 5.
