SYSTEM OR LAKE. THE SUBCONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY IN
WRITING THE OWNER AND TIDE ENGINEER IN ANY
CIRCUMSTANCES WHERE THIS CANNOT BE ACCOMPLISHED.
12. ALL FILL AREAS (ENGINEERED FILL) SHALL BE COMPACTED TO
AT LEAST 95 PERCENT OF THE MAXIMUM DRY DENSITY (ASTM
D- 1557). FILL UNDER THE FOOTING SHALL BE COMPACTED TO AT
LEAST 95 PERCENT OF THE MAXIMUM DRY DENSITY (ASTM D- 1557).
FILL SHOULD EXHIBIT A MAXIMUM DRY DENSITY OF AT LEAST 105
PCF, AND HAVE A LIQUID LIMIT LESS THAN 50 AND PLASTICITY INDEX
OF LESS THAN 25. SANDY FILL MUST HAVE LESS THAN t5 FINES
