CLEARING AND GRUBBING SHALL CONSIST OF CUTTING, REMOVING AND SATISFACTORY DISPOSING OF ALL TREES, DOWNED TIMBER, BRUSH, PROJECTING ROOTS, STUMPS, RUBBISH, BOULDERS, BROKEN CONCRETE, FENCING (AS DESIGNATED), AND OTHER MATERIAL ON THE PROJECT SITE AND WITHIN THE BOUNDARY AS SHOWN ON THE CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS AND /OR AS DESIGNATED BY "CONSTRUCTION LIMITS 2. ALL "UNSUITABLE MATERIAL" FROM CLEARING OPERATIONS SHALL BE REMOVED TO DISPOSAL AREA(S) OFF OF THE PROJECT SITE; UNLESS A "BURY PIT" SHALL BE LOCATED WHERE IMPOUNDMENT OF SURFACE WATER MAY OCCUR. 3. MATERIALS SHALL NOT BE DISPOSED OF BY BURNING UNLESS APPROVED BY THE LOCAL FIRE MARSHAL. TREE REMOVAL AND PROTECTION 1. TREES SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE PROJECT ONLY WHERE THE AREA IS TO BE OCCUPIED BY ROAD AND SURFACED AREAS. 2. TREES SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE PROJECT SITE AS DIRECTED BY THE DEVELOPER. 3. TREES SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE PROJECT SITE WHERE THEY INTERFERE DIRECTLY WITH THE PLACEMENT OF STORM OR SANITARY SEWERS, AND THAT SUCH EXCAVATION IS OR WILL BE FATAL TO SUCH ADJACENT TREES. 4 THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ENDEAVOR TO SAVE AND PROTECT TREES OF VALUE AND WORTH WHICH DO NOT IMPAIR CONSTRUCTION OF IMPROVEMENTS AS DESIGNATED. IN THE EVENT CUT OR FILL EXCEEDS 0.5 FEET OVER THE ROOT AREA, THE DEVELOPER SHALL BE CONSULTED WITH RESPECT TO PROTECTIVE MEASURES TO BE TAKEN, IF ANY, TO PRESERVE SUCH TREES. 5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DETERMINING THE METHOD FOR PROTECTION OF TOPS, TRUNKS AND ROOTS OF EXISTING TREES ON THE PROJECT SITE THAT ARE TO REMAIN. EXISTING TREES SUBJECT TO CONSTRUCTION DAMAGE SHALL BE BOXED, FENCED OR OTHER MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT SHALL NOT BE STOCKPILED OR STORED WITHIN THE SPREAD OF BRANCHES. BRANCHES WHICH NEED TO BE REMOVED OR ARE BROKEN SHALL BE NEATLY TRIMMED AND SCARS SHALL BE COVERED WITH TREE PAINT. STRIPPING OF TOPSOIL THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY THAT ALL TOPSOIL HAS BEEN REMOVED IN THE AREAS TO BE OCCUPIED BY ROAD, WALKS AND DESIGNATED BUILDING AREAS. Summary of Requirements for Core Drilling Manholes 1. A current certificate of insurance k required to be on file prior to the work starting. 2. Before starting to dig check manhole for level. If questionable, plumb -bob manhole, notify General Contractor C T RVVD. 3. The manhole shall be properly supported during the core drilling process. 4. No coring, cutting, or drilling is pemlitted within six inches (6 of a barrel joint. The hole edge shall be a minimum of sot inches (6 from any joint. 5. Any holes cut in the field shall be smoothly and cleanly drilled with a core -drill or in a manner acceptable to CTRWD. The hole shall be wiped clean. Boot shall meet ASTM C -923 specifications. Bootto be for ASTM 3034 SDR -35 pipe. 6. Boot installation shall be flush top to bottom inside manhole. Inside Wedgeband shall be tightened to seventy -five (75) foot- pounds (torque). Retorque after fifteen (15) minutes. 7. Lube pipe with approved water dispersible tube at four (4) points very lightly (90- 180 270 -360 degrees). Insert twisting and pushing pipe to proper depth. Tighten the outside stainless steel clamp to sixty (60) foot-pounds torque. 8. For cored holes, penetrations andior other opening through a manhole or other sanitary structure, a separation of greater than eighteen (18) inches between the outer edge of resilient connectors is desired. If a separation of less than eighteen (18) inches exists, then additional reinforcement will be required in the structure or the structure diameter shall be enlarged to provide the required separation. 9. Cored holes, penetrations and /or other opening through a manhole or other sanitary structure shall have a minimum separation of eight (8) inches from the outer edge of resilient connectors. 2.8 THE CHAMBER SHALL HAVE TWO ORIFICES NEAR ITS TOP TO ALLOW FOR EQUALIZATION OF AIR PRESSURE BETWEEN ITS INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR. 2.9 THE CHAMBER SHALL HAVE BOTH OF ITS ENDS OPEN TO ALLOW FOR UNIMPEDED HYDRAULIC FLOWS AND VISUAL INSPECTIONS DOWN A ROW'S ENTIRE LENGTH. 2.10 THE CHAMBER SHALL HAVE 14 CORRUGATIONS. 2.11 THE CHAMBER SHALL HAVE A CIRCULAR, INDENTED, FLAT SURFACE ON THE TOP OF THE CHAMBER FOR AN OPTIONAL 4 -INCH INSPECTION PORT OR CLEAN -OUT. 2.12 THE CHAMBER SHALL BE ANALYZED AND DESIGNED USING AASHTO METHODS FOR THERMOPLASTIC CULVERTS CONTAINED IN THE LRFD BRIDGE DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS, 2ND EDITION, INCLUDING INTERIM SPECIFICATIONS THROUGH 2001.
