TEMPORARY SEEDING
Upon completion of earth moving operations:
Apply 150 pounds of agricultural limestone per 100) sq. ft. (approximately
three tons per acre) if needed i.e. according to soil test. Spread 23
pounds of 12 -12 -12 analysis fertilizer (or equivalent) per 1000 sq. ft,
(approximately 1000 pounds per acre) or- fertilize according to soil test.
Apply additional 150# of 32 -0 -0 (ammonium nitrate) per acre or equivalent
if surface layer Is subsoil.
Work lime and fertilizer Into the soil to a depth of' four Inches where
possible. Equipment should operate at right angles to the slope.
Apply seed uniformly according to the rate Indicated In Fig. 5 -1 by
broadcasting, drilling, or- hydraulic application. Cover seeds to depth
Indicated. See Fig. 5 -3 on page 5 -4 for seeding dates.
Firm the seed bed following seeding with a roller or cuttipacker unless
a cultipacker seeder is used. Apply mulch on all slopes that are steeper
than 6 percent immediately after seeding. See pages 5 -10 and 5 -11 for
additional mulching suggestions, also Fig. 5 -7 on page 5 -13.

EROSION CONTROL NOTES
LAND ALTERATION WHICH STRIP THE LAND OF VEGETATION, INCLUDING
REGRADING, SHALL BE DONE IN A WAY THAT WILL MINIMIZE EROSION.
WHENEVER FEASIBLE, NATURAL VEGETATION SHALL BE RETAINED, PROTECTED

SEDIMENT IN RUN -OFF WATER SHALL BE TRAPPED BY THE USE OF SUCH METHODS
AS DEBRIS BASINS AND SILT TRAPS UNTIL THE DISTURBED AREA IS STABILIZED.
EROSION CONTROL MEASURES SHALL BE IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE INDIANA
HANDBOOK FOR EROSION CONTROL IN DEVELOPING AREAS.
THE CITY ENGINEER SHALL HAVE AUTHORITY TO REQUIRE ADDITIONAL EROSION
CONTROL MEASURES DURING THE COURSE OF CONSTRUCTION, SHOULD
SITE CONDITIONS SO WARRANT.
