CARMEL REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION Meeting, Tuesday,
July 21, 2009
President Ron Carter called the meeting to order at 7 04 p m Commission members Bill
Hammer Jeff Worrell and Greg Philips were present, constituting a quorum Also
present were Karl Haas, Les Olds Sherry Mielke, Andrea Stumpf Don Cleveland and
Matt Worthley

Approval of Minutes
June 17, 2009 Moved for approval by Mr Hammer seconded by Mr Worrell and
unanimously approved
June 30 2009 Moved for approval by Mr Worrell seconded by Mr Hammer and
unanimously approved
Financial Matters
Ms Mielke announced the June 2009 end of month operating balance for the CRC
General Fund is $1,157 440 00
The TIF distribution is anticipated to be received on July 27, 2009 Ms Mielke also
reported the CRC is 32% into the general fund budget at the six month
Ms Mielke requested the Commission s approval to pay invoices for the CRC General
Fund in the amount of $1,113,015 47 Mr Worrell moved to approve CRC General Fund
claims as submitted Seconded by Mr Hammer and passed unanimously
Sherry Mielke requested the approval of the Disbursement of Curds from the PAC
Construction Fund in the amount of $4,124,877 85 Moved for approval by Mr
Hammer seconded by Mr Worrell and passed unanimously

Update on Properties
Indiana Design Center Parking Garage
Mr Olds announced the Indiana Design Center garage was completed with interior
signage installed The garage is fully open for public parking with security in place
Exterior parking signs are on order and will be installed within the next month

CRC Meeting July 21, 2009
Arts Design District
Ms Mielke announced the Art of Wine event, a gallery walk and wine tasting will take
place Saturday, August 1 from 5 -10 p m A new business "28 Start Studio' is now open
at 25 W Main Street In addition, a new french bistro cafe, "La Mie Emilie' has leased
the former Bistro de Pans location and is working on mtenor build out The cafe
anticipates being open early August
Mr Worrell announced a new ballroom dance school will move into the Arts Design
District at 14 W Main Street

Mr Worrell congratulated the staff and thanked the volunteers on the Rock the Distnct
event (Saturday, July 11 2009)
Ms Stumpf listed the upcoming Arts Design Distnct events including Art of Wine
(Saturday, Aug 1 Carmel Artomobtlia (Saturday Sept 12 Dog Day Afternoon
(Sunday, Sept 13 fall gallery walk (Sept 19 and the Carmel International Arts
festival (Saturday Sept 26 Sunday Sept 27
An overview of the dates and times of street closures was also announced
Carmel Artomobilia Closures from 6 a m 11 p m Main Street from 3 Ave
SW to 1 Avenue SE Range Line Road from I Street North to 1 Street South
Dog Day Afternoon Closures from 6 a m 11 p m Range Line Road from
Main Street north to approximately 4 Street
Carmel International Arts Festival Closures starting Fnday, Sept 25 at 4 p m
until Sunday Sept 27 at 11 p m (Same footpnnt as Carmel Artomobtlia listed
above)
Benefits to the merchants are always considered and weighed when planning the events
in the Arts Design Distnct

meeting was adjourned at 7 21 p m
