CARMEL REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION Meeting, Wednesday,
September 16, 2009
President Ron Carter called the meeting to order at 6 37 p m Commission members Bill
Hammer and Carolyn Anker were present, constituting a quorum Also present were
Karl Haas Les Olds, Sherry Mielke, Megan McVicker Don Cleveland and Matt
Worthley

Approval of Minutes
August 19, 2009 Moved for approval by Mr Hammer Seconded by Ms Anker and
unanimously approved
Financial Matters
Ms Mielke announced the August 2009 end of month operating balance for the CRC
General Fund is $5,282 108
Ms Mielke requested the Commission s approval to pay invoices for the CRC General
Fund in the amount of $881,707 93 Mr Hammer moved to approve CRC General Fund
claims as submitted Seconded by Ms Anker and passed unanimously
Sherry Mielke requested the approval of the Disbursement of Funds from the PAC
Construction Fund in the amount of $2,153,835 79 Moved for approval by Mr
Hammer seconded by Ms Anker and passed unanimously

Update on Properties
Mr Olds gave an update on the rust problem association with the Old Town Shops
buildings and announced that cost estimates would be submitted to the CRC in the near
future
Mr Olds also gave an update on the RFP for the Parcel 92 Apostolic Church site and
announced that it would be released as soon as crews finished the environmental testing
on the site
Mr Anderson with Shiel Sexton, Construction Manager for the PAC gave an update on
the construction progress

Arts Design Distnct
Ms MteIke gave a review of the Artomobilia and Dog Day Afternoon events, estimating
a total of 12 000 14,000 visitors for the weekend
Ms Mielke also announced the upcoming September 19 Gallery Walk and the Carmel
international Arts Festival September 26 -27
Mr Carter and Mr Hammer expressed thanks to the staff for their work on the events
Mr Hammer mentioned the Michael Feinstein concert with the Carmel Symphony
Orchestra on September 25
Mr Olds gave an update on renovation grants in the Arts Design Distnct, stating two
are in the process of being approved The grants will be used for additional signage to
help more clearly identify the business This is being done in concert with Hirons Co
The first sign has been installed for Soori Gallery
Mr Carter announced that Arts Design Distnct businesses may be seen on TV
Radio as part of the co -op program dunng the fall and holiday season
Mr Carter also announced that wayfinder signage listing points of interest in community
and the Arts Design Distnct will be installed
