(c) Requirement to cut. All owners of real property ("property") located within the City shall cut and remove weeds and other rank vegetation growing thereon that exceeds an average height of six inches, and shall keep their property clear of debris. Please be advised, this violation need to be corrected by July 15, 2009, or, this matter will be brought into compliance by the City of Carmel. You, as property owner(s) will be liable and billed for the cost of correcting the violation(s) and all administrative costs. This will serve as the last notice for maintaining the grass and weeds on the property. From this point forward, any documented violations of the requirement to cut ordinance will result in this Department having our contractors come out to maintain the property for which you, the property owner, will be billed. Also, there is an abandoned/junk vehicle being stored outside on the property. This is prohibited per the Carmel City Code § 6-106(b) and § 6-114, which states: 6-106 (b): A Junk Car shall mean any motor vehicle which does not bear a currently valid license plate, and is not kept in a garage or building. 6-114: Because of the danger to the health from vermin, the danger of personal injury to children attracted by such vehicles, danger of fire by the storage of gasoline and oil thereon, any abandoned, unlicensed, inoperable, disassembled, wrecked or junked motor vehicle on any street or public property for more than five days or upon any private property for more than 15 days, except as hereinafter provided, is declared to be a nuisance and unlawful. Also, the trees in the front of the property project over the sidewalk. Please trim all trees, bushes, etc. to comply with §6-79 Public Nuisances Affecting Public and Safety of the Cannel City Code which defines a violation of this section as: (d) All limbs of trees which project over a public sidewalk less than eight feet above the surface thereof or less than ten feet above the surface of a public street. To avoid further Enforcement action, which can include abatement by the City to which the property owner is billed, please have all affected trees, shrubbery, etc. trimmed to Code specifications by July 15, 2009.
