SERVICE, AND OTHERWISE PREPARE THEM FOR REUSE; STORE AND PROTECT
AGAINST DAMAGE. REINSTALL ITEMS IN LOCATIONS INDICATED.
4. EXISTING TO REMAIN: PROTECT ITEMS INDICATED TO REMAIN AGAINST
DAMAGE AND SOIUNG DURING DEMOUTION. WHEN PERMITTED BY THE
ENGINEER, ITEMS MAY BE REMOVED TO A SUITABLE, PROTECTED
STORAGE LOCATION DURING DEMOUTION AND THEN CLEANED AND
REINSTALLED IN THEIR ORIGINAL LOCATIONS.
5. CONTRACTOR SHALL SCHEDULE DEMOUTION ACTIVITIES WITH THE
ENGINEER INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING:
A. DETAILED SEQUENCE OF DEMOUTION AND REMOVAL WORK, WITH
STARTING AND ENDING DATES FOR EACH ACTIVITY.
DATES FOR SHUTOFF, CAPPING, AND CONTINUATION OF UTIUTY
SERVICES.
IDENTIFY AND ACCURATELY LOCATE UTIUTIES AND
OTHER SUBSURFACE STRUCTURAL, ELECTRICAL OR MECHANICAL
CONDITIONS.
6. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS: COMPLY WITH GOVERNING EPA
NOTIFICATION REGULATIONS BEFORE STARTING DEMOUTION. COMPLY
WITH HAUUNG AND DISPOSAL REGULATIONS OF AUTHORITIES HAVING
JURISDICTION.
7. STORAGE OR SALE OF REMOVED ITEMS OR MATERIALS ON -SITE WILL NOT
BE PERMITTED.
8. OBTAIN APPROVED BORROW SOIL MATERIALS OFF -SITE WHEN
SUFFICIENT SATISFACTORY SOIL MATERIALS ARE NOT AVAILABLE ON-
SITE.
9. SURVEY TIE CONDITION OF THE BUILDING TO DETERMINE WHETHER
REMOVING ANY ELEMENT MIGHT RESULT IN A STRUCTURAL DEFICIENCY
OR UNPLANNED COLLAPSE OF ANY PORTION OF THE STRUCTURE OR
ADJACENT STRUCTURES DURING DEMOLITION.
10. MAINTAIN EXISTING UTIUTIES INDICATED TO REMAIN IN SERVICE AND
PROTECT THEM AGAINST DAMAGE DURING DEMOUTION OPERATIONS.
A. DO NOT INTERRUPT EXISTING UTIUTIES SERVING OCCUPIED OR
OPERATING FACIUTIES, EXCEPT WHEN AUTHORIZED IN WRITING BY
ENGINEER AND AUTHORITIES HAVING JURISDICTION. PROVIDE
TEMPORARY SERVICES DURING INTERRUPTIONS TO EXISTING
UTIUTIES, AS ACCEPTABLE TO OWNER AND TO GOVERNING
AUTHORITIES.
UTILITY REQUIREMENTS: LOCATE, IDENTIFY, DISCONNECT, AND SEAL OR
CAP OFF INDICATED UTIUTY SERVICES SERVING THE STRUCTURE TO
BE DEMOUSHED.
11.
DEMOUTION INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:
A. DEMOUTION AND REMOVAL OF BUILDING PAD.
B. DEMOUTION AND REMOVAL OF SITE IMPROVEMENTS.
C. DISCONNECTING, CAPPING OR SEAUNG, AND ABANDONING SITE
UTIUTIES IN PLACE.
D. DISCONNECTING, CAPPING OR SEAUNG, AND REMOVING SITE
UTIUTIES.

DEMOLITION GENERAL NOTES
A. ARRANGE TO SHUT OFF INDICATED UT1UTIES WITH UTIUTY
COMPANIES AND FOLLOW THEIR RESPECTIVE UTIUTY KILL POUCY.
12. DO NOT START DEMOUTION WORK UNTIL UTILITY DISCONNECTING AND
SEAUNG HAVE BEEN COMPLETED AND VERIFIED IN WRITING.
13. CONDUCT DEMOUTION OPERATIONS AND REMOVE DEBRIS TO ENSURE
MINIMUM INTERFERENCE WITH ROADS, STREETS, WALKS, AND OTHER
ADJACENT OCCUPIED AND USED FACIUTIES.
A. DO NOT CLOSE OR OBSTRUCT STREETS, WALKS, OR OTHER
ADJACENT OCCUPIED OR USED FACIUTIES WITHOUT PERMISSION
FROM OWNER AND AUTHORITIES HAVING JURISDICTION. PROVIDE
ALTERNATE ROUTES AROUND CLOSED OR OBSTRUCTED TRAFFIC
WAYS IF REQUIRED BY GOVERNING REGULATIONS.
14. CONDUCT DEMOUTION OPERATIONS TO PREVENT INJURY TO PEOPLE AND
DAMAGE TO ADJACENT BUILDINGS AND FACIUTIES TO REMAIN. ENSURE
SAFE PASSAGE OF PEOPLE AROUND DEMOUTION AREA.
A. ERECT TEMPORARY PROTECTION, BARRICADES AS PER LOCAL GOVERNING
AUTHORITIES.
B. PPOTECT EXISTING SITE IMPROVEMENTS AND APPURTENANCES TO
REMAIN.
15. EXPLOSIVES: USE OF EXPLOSIVES WILL NOT BE PERMITTED.
16. REMOVE AND TRANSPORT DEBRIS IN A MANNER THAT WILL PREVENT
SPILLAGE ON ADJACENT SURFACES AND AREAS.
17. CLEAN ADJACENT BUILDINGS AND IMPROVEMENT OF DUST, DIRT, AND
DEBRIS CAUSED BY DEMOLITION OPERATIONS. RETURN ADJACENT
AREAS TO CONDITION EXISTING BEFORE START OF DEMOUTION.
18. DAMAGES: PROMPTLY REPAIR DAMAGES TO ADJACENT FACIUTIES
CAUSED BY DEMOUTION OPERATIONS AT THE CONTRACTORS COST.
19. GENERAL PROMPTLY DISPOSE OF DEMOUSHED MATERIALS. DO NOT
ALLOW DEMOUSHED MATERIALS TO ACCUMULATE ON -SITE.
20. BURNING: DO NOT BURN DEMOUSHED MATERIALS.
21. ASBESTOS: IT IS NOT EXPECTED THAT ASBESTOS WILL BE ENCOUNTERED IN
THE COURSE OF THIS CONTRACT. IF ANY MATERIALS SUSPECTED OF
CONTAINING ASBESTOS ARE ENCOUNTERED, DO NOT DISTURB THE MATERIALS.
IMMEDIATELY NOTIFY THE ENGINEER AND THE OWNER.
22. BUILDING PAD DEMOUTION: DEMOUSH BUILDING PAD COMPLETELY AND
REMOVE FROM THE SITE. USE METHODS REQUIRED TO COMPLETE WORK
WITHIN UMITATIONS OF GOVERNING REGULATIONS AND AS FOLLOWS:
A. DISPOSE OF DEMOUSHED ITEMS AND MATERIALS PROMPTLY.
B. DEMOUSH CONCRETE AND MASONRY IN SMALL SECTIONS.
C. BREAK UP AND REMOVE CONCRETE SLABS ON GRADE.
23. BELOW -GRADE CONSTRUCTION: DEMOUSH FOUNDATION WALLS AND OTHER
BELOW -GRADE CONSTRUCTION, AS FOLLOWS:
A. COMPLETELY REMOVE BELOW -GRADE CONSTRUCTION, INCLUDING
FOUNDATION WALLS FOOTINGS, AND BELOW GRADE CONCRETE SLABS.
24. FIWNG BELOW -GRADE AREAS: COMPLETELY FILL BELOW -GRADE AREAS AND
VOIDS RESULTING FROM DEMOUTION OF BUILDINGS AND PAVEMENTS WITH
SOIL MATERIALS ACCORDING TO REQUIREMENTS PER SOILS REPORT.
CONTRACTOR SHALL CONTACT ENGINEER PRIOR TO FIWNG ANY AREAS.
CONTRACTOR SHALL CONTACT ENGINEER TO OBSERVE FILL PROCEDURES.
25. CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE ALL ASPHALT /CONCRETE PAVEMENT, CONCRETE
CURB, STRUCTURES, LANDSCAPING, UGHT POLES AND FOUNDATIONS, ETC.
WITHIN PROPERTY UNES UNLESS OTHERWISE INDICATED. CONTRACTOR SHALL
REFER TO GRADING PLAN, AND UTIUTY PLAN PRIOR TO DEMOUTION
OPERATIONS.
26. CONTRACTOR SHALL PLUG EXISTING SANITARY SEWER TAP FOR REUSE.
PROVIDE WOODEN POST AT LATERAL LOCATION FOR FIELD VERIFICATION.
27. CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE MUD AND /OR OTHER SUBSTANCES OR DEBRIS
DEPOSITED ON CITY STREETS BY VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT USED IN
EXCAVATION, CONSTRUCTION, DEMOUTION, OR OTHERWISE, IMMEDIATELY
AFTER DEBRIS IS NOTICED OR IF MANDATED BY THE CITY OF CARMEL
28. CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE EXISTING WALK IN RIGHT -OF -WAY TO NEAREST
JOINT.
29. CONTRACTOR SHALL PLUG EXISTING GAS SERVICE FOR REUSE. PROVIDE
