GRADING PLAN NOTES

2. STRIP BUILDING AND PAVEMENT AREAS OF ALL ORGANIC TOPSOILS.
STOCKPILE SUITABLE TOPSOILS FOR RESPREADING ONTO LANDSCAPE
AREAS. ALL EXCESS EXCAVATED MATERIALS SHALL BE REMOVED FROM
THE SITE AT THE CONTRACTORS EXPENSE.
3. SITE GRADING SHALL BE PERFORMED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE PLANS AND
SPECIFICATIONS AND THE RECOMMENDATIONS SET FORTH IN THE SOILS REPORT
REFERENCED IN THIS PLAN SET. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
REMOVING ALL SOFT, YIELDING OR UNSUITABLE MATERIALS AND REPLACING WITH
SUITABLE MATERIALS AS SPECIFIED IN THE SOILS REPORT. UNLESS OTHERWISE
SPECIFIED IN THE PLANS, SPECIFICATIONS, OR SOILS REPORT THE SITE GRADING,
EXCAVATION, AND EMBANKMENT SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE STATE
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION CONSTRUCTION AND MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS.
4. ALL EXCAVATED. OR FILLED AREAS SHALL BE COMPACTED TO 98X OF
STANDARD PROCTOR MAXIMUM DRY DENSITY PER A.S.T.M. TEST D -698.
MOISTURE CONTENT AT TIME OF PLACEMENT SHALL NOT EXCEED 2X ABOVE
NOR 3X BELOW OPTIMUM. CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT A COMPACTION REPORT
PREPARED BY A QUAUFIED SOILS ENGINEER REGISTERED WITHIN THE STATE
WHERE THE WORK IS PERFORMED, VERIFYING THAT ALL FILLED AREAS AND
SUBGRADE AREAS WITHIN 1HE BUILDING PAD AREA AND AREAS TO BE PAVED
HAVE BEEN COMPACTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE PLANS AND SPECS AND
THE RECOMMENDATIONS SET FORTH IN THE SOILS REPORT.
5. ALL DIMENSIONS AND GRADES SHOWN ON THE PLANS SHALL BE FIELD
VERIFIED BY THE CONTRACTOR PRIOR TO CONSTRUC110N. CONTRACTOR SHALL
NOTIFY CONSTRUCTION MANAGER IF ANY DISCREPANCES EXIST, PRIOR TO
PROCEEDING WITH CONSTRUCTION, FOR NECESSARY PLAN OR GRADE CHANGES.
NO EXTRA COMPENSATION SHALL BE PAID TO THE CONTRACTOR FOR WORK
HAVING TO BE REDONE DUE TO DIMENSIONS OR GRADES SHOWN INCORRECTLY
ON THESE PLANS IF SUCH NOTIFICATION HAS NOT BEEN GIVEN.

ALL WORK SHALL BE PERFORMED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE PLANS AND
SPECIF1CA11ONS AND THE REQUIREMENTS AND STANDARDS OF THE LOCAL GOVERNING
AUTHORITY. THE SOILS REPORT AND RECOMMENDATIONS SET FORTH THEREIN ARE A
PART OF THE REQUIRED CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS AND IN CASE OF CONFUCT
SHALL TAKE PRECEDENCE UNLESS SPECIFICALLY NOTED OTHERWISE ON THE PLANS.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE CONSTRUCTION MANAGER OF ANY
DISCREPANCY BETWEEN SOILS REPORT PLANS ETC.
SEE SHEET C2 FOR GEOMETRICAL LAYOUT. ELEVATIONS GIVEN ARE AT BOTTOM
FACE OF CURB FINISHED PAVEMENT GRADE. ALL PAVEMENT SHALL BE LAID ON
A STRAIGHT, EVEN, AND UNIFORM GRADE WITH A MINIMUM OF 1X AND A
MAXIMUM OF 5% SLOPE TOWARD THE COLLECTION POINTS. DO NOT ALLOW
NEGATIVE GRADES OR PONDING OF WATER.
SLOPE BUILDING SIDEWALK AWAY FROM THE BUILDING AT 1/4"
PER FOOT.
8. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE BUTT END JOINT TO MEET EXISTING
PAVEMENT IN ELEVATION AT DRIVE RETURNS AND ENSURE POSITIVE
DRAINAGE.

BEFORE STARTING GRADING OPERATIONS, SEE LANDSCAPE PLAN L1 FOR
TREATMENT OF EXISTING GRADE.
PRIOR TO SI1E CONSTRUCTION AC11VITY, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL ALL
SWPP MEASURES TO PROTECT EXISTING DRAINAGE FACIUTIES. CONTRACTOR
SHALL PREVENT SILTATION FROM LEAVING THE SI1E AT ALL TIMES.
4. CONTRACTOR SHALL AT ALL T1MES INSURE THAT SWPP MEASURES PROTECTING
EXISTING DRAINAGE FACILITIES BE IN PLACE PRIOR TO 1HE COMMENCEMENT OF
ANY PHASE OF THE SITE CONSTRUCTION OR LAND ALTERATION.
5. AS SOON AS AREAS ARE BROUGHT TO FINISHED GRADE OR NEW DRAINAGE
FACIU11ES ARE CONSTRUCTED, CONTRACTOR SHALL CONSTRUCT THE
APPUCABLE SWPP MEASURES AS REQUIRED BY AND DEUNEATED ON THE
APPROVED PLANS.
6. CONTRACTOR SHALL INSPECT ALL SWPP MEASURES DAILY AND REPAIR AS
NECESSARY TO PREVENT EROSION. SILTATION SHALL BE REMOVED FROM AREAS
WHERE FAILURES HAVE OCCURED AND CORRECTIVE AC110N TAKEN WITHIN 24
HOURS TO MAINTAIN ALL SWPP.
7. PERMANENT VEGETATION SHALL BE INSTALLED WITHIN 10 DAYS AT THE
COMPLE110N OF ANY GRADED AREAS.
AT SUCH TIME ROUGH GRADING OF THE SITE IS COMPLETE AND DRAINAGE
DIVERTS TO INLETS, INLET SEDIMENT FILTERS SHALL BE INSTALLED AT ALL
INLET STRUCTURES TO KEEP PIPING SYSTEMS FREE OF SILTATION.
FILTER TRAPS, CONSTRUC110N ENTRANCES, AND SILT FENCES SHALL REMAIN IN
PLACE UNTIL A GOOD STAND OF GRASS HAS BEEN OBTAINED AND /OR PAVING
OPERATIONS ARE COMPLETE. AFTER COMPLETE VEGETATION ESTABUSHMENT OR
PAVING, ALL SILT IN PIPES AND DRAINAGE SWALES SHALL BE REMOVED WITHIN
10 DAYS.
