1. Docket No. 09100003 ADLS Amend: Alexandria Apartments Signage
The applicant seeks design approval for 1 new identification sign. The site is located at the SE corner of
Pennsylvania and Main St. and is zoned OM /MF- Old Meridian District Multi Family. Filed by Nancy
Long of A -1 Expeditors on behalf of Edward Rose Companies.
The Applicant seeks approval for a new ground sign at the secondary entrance to the multi family subdivision.
Multi family subdivisions are allowed a sign at each entrance to the complex that is 6 feet tall and 50 sq. ft. or less
in area. The proposed sign is 5 feet tall and 40 sq. ft. in area; however, the actual sign area is much smaller, at 9 sq.
ft. The sign will be constructed of brick and limestone accents. It is in keeping with the style of the other entrance
signs for this complex. It will be double sided to face the north and southbound traffic on Pennsylvania Street. It
will be externally illuminated The Department has no issues with this sign. Please refer to the petitioner's info
packet for more detail.
The Dept of Community Services (DOCS) recommends that the Committee vote to approve this item after
all comments /concerns are addressed. (This item requires a Plan Commission Committee vote.)

2. Docket No. 09110029 ADLS Amend: Carmel Marketplace (previously "The Fountains Signage
The applicant seeks approval for a new monument identification sign for the complex. The site is located at
502 E. Cannel Dr. and is zoned B -8. Filed by Matt Griffin of Buckingham Companies.
The applicant is requesting approval for a new ground sign to identify the complex. It will be placed in the grassy
area between the two entrances. It will have brick columns with white decorative caps, and room for five tenant
names. The background of the panels will be white, with the exception of the name of the complex, "Carmel
Marketplace The Department asks that the applicant commit to utilizing the same color for each tenant name as
shown on their rendering. However, their fonts can be unique to the brand. This will help the sign to look unified
and aesthetically pleasing. The sign will be internally illuminated. A landscape plan is still needed. Petitioner,
please provide this. Overall, the Depailnient is in support of this sign. Please refer to the petitioner's info packet for
more detail.
