THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PERSONALLY INSPECT THE SITE OF THE PROPOSED WORK IN ORDER TO BECOME FAMILIAR WITH ALL THE CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH THE WORK IS TO BE DONE PRIOR TO SUBMISSION OF BIDS. 2. CLEARING AND GRUBBING SHALL CONSIST OF THE SATISFACTORY DISPOSAL OF ALL VEGETATION, TOGETHER WITH THE DOWN TIMBER, SNAGS, BRUSH, WEEDS, STONES, BOULDERS, RUBBISH, STUMPS, HEDGES, PAVEMENTS, UTILITIES AND ALL OTHER OBSTRUCTIONS RESTING ON OR PROTRUDING THROUGH THE SURFACE OF THE EXISTING GROUND AND THE SURFACE OF THE EXCAVATED AREAS. CLEARING OPERATIONS SHALL BE CONDUCTED SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR THE SAFETY OF EMPLOYEES AND OTHERS. 4. OBTAIN AND PAY FOR ALL PERMITS AND FEES REQUIRED FOR EXECUTION OF WORK. 5. NOTIFY APPLICABLE UTILITIES COMPANIES AND ARRANGE FOR CUT OFF OF ALL FACILITIES AND PROTECT ALL REMAINING FACILITIES. 6. PROVIDE ADEQUATE PROTECTION OF PUBLIC ADJACENT PROPERTY WHERE REQUIRED. 7. ALL EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS RESULTING FROM THE DEMOLITION SHALL BECOME THE PROPERTY OF THE CONTRACTOR WHO SHALL REMOVE SAME FROM SITE UNLESS STATED OTHERWISE BY CONTRACT. 8. ALL EXISTING STRUCTURES SHALL BE REMOVED IN THEIR ENTIRETY INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, FOOTINGS, UTILITIES, AND ANY PAVEMENT, ETC. 9. MASONRY SHALL BE DEMOLISHED IN SMALL SECTIONS. BRACING AND SHORING SHALL BE USED WHERE NECESSARY TO AVOID COLLAPSE OF THE STRUCTURE. 10. STREETS AND ROADS SHALL BE KEPT CLEAN OF DEBRIS. 11. ALL MATERIALS, RUBBISH AND DEBRIS RESULTING FROM THE DEMOLITION OR CLEARING OF THE SITE SHALL BE PROMPTLY REMOVED FROM THE PREMISES AND DISPOSED OF BY THE CONTRACTOR. 12. EXCEPT AS DESIGNATED, DO NOT REMOVE, CUT, DEFACE, INJURE OR DESTROY TREES OR SHRUBS WITHOUT WRITTEN AUTHORIZATION FROM THE OWNER OR ENGINEER. PROVIDE NECESSARY PROTECTION FOR TREES SHRUBS IN SUCH AREAS AS TO PREVENT INJURY, DEFACING, DESTRUCTION OR OTHER DAMAGE BY CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS. DO NOT USE TREES OR SHRUBS AS ANCHORAGE POINTS FOR ANY ROPES, CABLES, OR GUYS WITHOUT WRITTEN AUTHORIZATION FROM THE ENGINEER.
