GENERAL IRRIGATICN NOTES
1. This irrigation design is diagrammatic. Actual layout of piping, sprinkler
heads, valves, controllers and related equipment shall be determined
on site. Minor field adjustments shalt be made at no additional cost to
the owner.
2. It is the responsibility of' the irrigation contractor to be familiar with
alt grades differences, locations of walls, structures and utilities and
make the necessary ad justments to accommodate the irrigation system
as designed. Do not willfully install the irrigation system as shown on
the drawings when it is obvious in the field that unknown obstructions,
grades or dimensions exist that might not have been considered in the
engineering. Such obstructions or- differences should be brought to the
attention of the owner's authorized representative, In the event that
this notification is not performed, the irrigation contractor shalt assume
full responsibility for any revisions and cost necessary.
3. The irrigation system design is based on a minimum operating pressure
of 70 psi the p.o.c. and a maximum f tow demand of 33gprn. The
irrigation contractor shaft verify water' pressures prior to construction.
Report differences between requirements and actual readings to the
owner's authorized representative.
4. The owner shall provide 120V -AC power source at the controller
location. The irrigation contractor shall make the final connection from
the electrical source to the controller.
5. A Rain Check shall be installed in the vicinity of the controller
Coordinate mounting location with the owner.
6. Install all backflow prevention devices and all piping between the point
of connection and the backflow preventer as per local codes.
7. Final location of the backflow preventer and the automatic controller
shalt be approved by the owner's authorized representative per
local codes.
8. A quick coupling vatve shalt be located at the irrigation water supply
point of connection to provide for a point of injection of compressed
air to purge the system of retained water for winterization.
9. Pipe size shall conform to those shown on drawings. No substitutions
of smaller pipe sizes shalt be permitted, but substitutions of' larger
sizes may be approved. Minimum pipe shalt be I'.
10. AU lateral zones shall be connected to the mainline with PVC pipe and
sized as f ollows;
1' Class 200 0- 17gprn 1.25' Class 160 18 -29gpm
1.5" Class 160 30 38gpm
11. Alt sprinkler heads shall be set perpendicular and Mush to finish grade
and with a clearance of 2' (min.) from the edge of any hardscape
unless otherwise specified.
12. Check valves shalt be installed on all irrigation heads in areas where
finish grade exceeds 4:1, where post vatve shut -off draining of the
irrigation head occurs or as directed by the owner's representative.
13. Alt sprinkler' heads and valves shall be Flushed and adjusted for
optimum coverage with minimum overspray on walks, streets, watts, etc..
14. Where Rain Bird 1800 Series spray heads are used, provide 1800
pressure compensating screens and /or 1800 Van nozzles to reduce or
eliminate overspray onto walks, streets, or other areas directed by
the owner's authorized representative.
15. All irrigation equipment not otherwise detailed or specified shall be
installed as per manufacture's recommendations and specifications.
16. Refer to the specifications for additional detailed information.
LEGEND
Rnrn Bird 1800 Series spray heads (8,10,12 or 15).
Provide appropriate nozzle selection and arc adjustment
to provide 100% coverage as they exist on site.
Multi- Stream Rotors (8' -30').
Provide appropriate nozzle selection and arc ad justrient
to provide 100% coverage as they exist on site.
Notes:
1. The p.o.c. location on this drawing is an :.pproximate Location.
2. Controller location shall be determined by owner.
3. Alt communication wire shall be placed in separate steeving under all
pavement, walks, etc. in excess of 10' in wiath. All communication
circuitry shalt be run, whenever possibte, with the main pipe tine.
