HomeMy WebLinkAboutCRC-11-04-09 CRC Meeting November 4, 2009 CARMEL REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION Meeting, Wednesday, November 4, 2009 President Ron Carter called the meeting to order at 6:04 p.m. Commission members Carolyn Anker, Jeff Worrell, Bill Hammer and Greg Phillips were present, constituting a quorum. Also present were Les Olds, Sherry Mielke, Andrea Stumpf, Don Cleveland and Matt Worthley. Others present: David Nagler, Andre Mane, Oleg Osipchuk, Jerry McDaniel, Mike Smith, Ronda Harter, Wes Manor, Joe Gaw, Jeff Greiner, Chris LaFever, Michael LaFevre, Gerg Delagrange, Andrew Smith, Gary Fischer, Darrell Norris The Pledge of Allegiance was said. Public Hearing 2006 Road Bond (Keystone Avenue Transfer) Mr. Carter explained the public hearing was for CRC Resolution 2009 -8 approving a proposed lease addendum between the Carmel Redevelopment Authority and the Redevelopment Commission. Dave Arrensen with Baker Daniels was present to explain the history of the Resolution 2009 -8 and need for a public hearing. Unused monies from a 2006 Bond Issue for the "Survive Alive House" are to be transferred to provide $2.5 million for the Keystone Avenue project. Mr. Arrensen confirmed these funds were a reallocation of funds approved three years prior and that no new debt was being added. The Public Hearing was opened at 6:12 p.m. No one was present to speak in favor of or in opposition of the 2006 Road Bond lease addendum. The Public Hearing was closed at 6:13 p.m. Resolution 2009 -8 was moved for approval by Mr. Worrell, seconded by Mr. Hammer and unanimously approved. Bid Openings Mr. Anderson, Construction Manager for Shiel Sexton, was present to open and read aloud bids for the following projects: Parcel 7C Energy Center Phase II Expansion (please see attached bid results) Parcel 7 PAC Retaining Wall Package (please see attached bid results) Mr. Olds reported that no bids were received for the RFP for the space located at 37 W. Main Street. Old Business Ms. Stumpf reported that the perpetrator who vandalized the J. Seward Johnson sculptures had not been caught. An image was being sent to the businesses in the Arts Design District to seek their cooperation in identifying this person. B -roll footage will 1 CRC Meeting November 4, 2009 also be shown on "Connecting with Carmel" in the hopes of the community's assistance in identifying the vandal. New Business No new business at this time. Adjournment Mr. Hammer moved the meeting be adjourned and seconded by Ms. Anker. The meeting was adjourned at 6:31 p.m. 2
