Carmel, IN 46032 RE: ZONING ORDINANCE VIOLATION —TEMPORARY SIGN(S) Dear Sir or Madam: This letter is being provided to inform you that a temporary sign(s) violation has been brought to this department's attention. The sign(s) advertise for Valvoline Instant Oil Change, located at 10390 N. Michigan Road, in the City of Carmel, a property listed under your ownership. BUSINESSES ARE NOT PERMITTED TO DISPLAY TEMPORARY SIGNS, BANNERS, A - FRAME SIGNAGE, regardless of whether or not the sign is located on the business's premises. According to Section 25.07.01-4 Prohibited Signs, of the Carmel/Clay Zoning Ordinance the following sign(s) are prohibited: (f) Signs consisting of banners, posters, pennants, ribbons, streamers, strings of light bulbs, spinners or similar devices, unless they are permitted specifically by other sections of this Ordinance. (i) Signs which are located upon, over, or in any street or highway right-of-way, except for official highway signs; Q) Portable signs which are portable or moveable, except as permitted under provisions of this section. (k) Signs which are established on trees, utility poles, or fences. (1) Signs which advertise goods, products, services or facilities or direct persons to a different location (or to a telephone number at a different location) from where the sign is installed. (Off -premise signs require a Developmental Standards Variance from the Board of Zoning Appeals.) This letter shall serve as the first and final warning for this type of violation. Please remove and permanently discontinue the use of the signs no later than September 18, 2009. Failure to do so will result in additional enforcement action.
