Division of Building and Code Services VIA CERTIFIED MAIL October 8, 2008 Stephanie Zalkin 1355 Bentley Way Carmel, IN 46032 RE: PROPERTY MAINTENANCE VIOLATION Dear Ms. Zalkin: This letter is being provided to inform you that it has recently been brought to the City's attention that the structure at 1355 Bentley Way, a property listed under your ownership, is in violation of Carmel City Code §6-220 the Property Maintenance Code. The following are the sections of code in violation: (1) §6-222 (c) 6 Roofs and drainage. The roof and flashing shall be sound, tight and not have defects that admit rain. Roof drainage shall be adequate to prevent dampness or deterioration in the walls or interior portion of the structure. Roof drains, gutters and down spouts shall be maintained in good repair and free from obstructions. Roof Drain discharges shall be discharged as a Legal Connection or a Legal Discharge. Inappropriate or temporary roofing coverings including but not limited to tarps shall be deemed inadequate protection and not uniform and as such shall be prohibited for a period exceeding seven (7) consecutive days. Please make the required corrections and/or repairs to the structure by November 5, 2008, failure to comply will result in further enforcement action.
