AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL, INDIANA,
ADDING CHAPTER 8, ARTICLE 5, SECTIONS 8- 37(a)(3), 8- 47(a)(43) and (44) TO AND
AMENDING SECTIONS 8- 47(a)(38)(c) AND 8- 48(0(48) OF THE CARMEL CITY CODE
WHEREAS, the Common. Council of the City of Cannel, Indiana, is authorized, pursuant to
Indiana Code 9- 21 -1 -3, to regulate by ordinance the parking of vehicles on roads and highways under the
City's jurisdiction; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council now desires to regulate vehicular parking on certain streets
located within the City of Carmel.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Carmel,
Indiana, as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing Recitals are fully incorporated herein by this reference.
Section 2. The following sub- paragraph shall be and the same is hereby amended to the Carmel
City Code as Chapter 8, Article 5, Section 8- 37(a)(3):
"Sect. 8- 37(a).
"Sect. 8- 47(a).
"(3) On the north side of Main Street two (2) spaces east of the roundabout at the
intersection of 4th Avenue SW /Harlin Drive and Main Street.
Section 3. The following sub paragraph shall be and is hereby amended to the Carmel City Code
as Chapter 8, Article 5, Section 8- 47(a)(38)(c) to read as follows:
"Sect. 8- 47(a)(38).
"(c) On the east side of 2nd Avenue N.W. from its intersection with 2 Street N.W. to its intersection with
3rd Street N.W."
Section 4. The following sub paragraphs shall be and the same are hereby added to the Carmel
City Code as Chapter 8, Article 5, Section 8- 47(a)(43) and (44), to read as follows:
"(43) On the south side of the frontage road known as East 126th Street from Stanwich
Place east to its termination by cul -du -sac.
(44) On the west side of 2nd Avenue NW from its intersection with 1st Street N.W. north to
its intersection with 3rd Street N.W."

Section 5. Carmel City Code Chapter 8, Article 5, Section 8- 480(48), shall be amended to read
as follows:
"Sect. 8- 48(f).
SPONSOR(S): Councilor Carter
"(48) On the east side of 2nd Avenue N.W. from its intersection with 2 Street N.W. to its
intersection with 3rd Street N.W."
Section 6. The Street Department is directed to promptly install appropriate signage consistent
with this Ordinance.
Section 7. The remaining provisions of Carmel City Code Sections 8 -37, 8 -47 and 8 -48 not
directly affected by these amendments remain in full force and effect.
Section 8. All prior ordinances or parts thereof inconsistent with any provision of this Ordinance
are hereby repealed, to the extent of such inconsistency only, as of the effective date of this Ordinance.
However, the repeal or amendment by this Ordinance of any other ordinance does not affect any rights or
liabilities accrued, penalties incurred or proceedings begun prior to the effective date of this Ordinance.
Those rights, liabilities and proceedings are continued and penalties shall be imposed and enforced under
such repealed or amended ordinance as if this Ordinance had not been adopted.
Section 9. If any portion of this Ordinance is for any reason declared to be unconstitutional or
invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this Ordinance so long as
enforcement of same can be given the same effect.
Section 10. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and signing
by the Mayor and such publication as is required by law.
