6. Docket No. 09120019 ADLS Amend: SePro Tower Signage
The applicant seeks design approval for a new directory sign design. The site is located at 11550 N.
Meridian St. and is zoned B -6 /Business within the US 31 Overlay Zone. Filed by Lisa Schweitzer of
LB &A Sign Management.
The applicant is requesting approval for a new directory sign. The current sign was approved when the building was
first constructed some 20 years ago. The new sign will be 20 sq. ft. which is allowed by the Sign Ordinance. It will
be a combination of blue /grey, white and brown. The sign will be illuminated by LED lights using solar energy.
This may be a first for the City of Carmel. The sign will have room for 20 tenant names on the sign. The
Department asks that the tenant names be uniform in color, however unique fonts and logos will be
respected. This sign will be installed in the same location as the existing sign, on the south entrance of the building.
It is not visible from US 31 or the access road into Fidelity Plaza.
The Dept of Community Services (DOCS) recommends that the Committee vote on this item after all
comments /concerns are addressed. (This item only requires a Plan Commission Committee vote.)

7. Docket No. 09120020 ADLS Amend: Freedom Auto Sales Signage
The applicant seeks design approval for 2 new identification signs. The site is located at 9884 N. Michigan
Rd. and is zoned B -2 /Business in the US 421 Overlay. Filed by Don Miller of A Sign By Design.
The applicant is requesting approval for a new wall and ground sign. Currently there are multiple wall sign cabinets
(with no Signage in them) on the building. (One of these cabinets can be seen on the first page of the packet.) These
cabinets will all be removed. One new non illuminated wall sign will go up in their place. It will be green and white
and say "Freedom Auto Sales It is 63 sq. ft. 75 sq. ft. is allowed by the Sign Ordinance.
The applicant is also requesting new faces be installed in the existing ground sign facing 96` St. Because this site
has frontage on two public streets, two signs are permitted. The ground sign design will be identical to the wall
sign. However the ground sign will be illuminated. Petitioner, will the entire sign illuminate or only the letters?
The Department would prefer that only the letters shine through and the background remain opaque. The
sign is 36 sq. ft. 75 is permitted by the Sign Ordinance.
The Dept of Community Services (DOCS) recommends that the Committee vote on this item after all
