Docket No. 09120021 ADLS Amend: PPG Porter Paints Signage The applicant seeks design approval for a new ground sign design. The site is located at 10111 N. Michigan Rd. and is zoned B -3 /Business in the US 421 Overlay. Filed by Russ Walter of Anchor Sign. The applicant is requesting approval for a new ground sign design. The existing ground sign has a panel that says Porter Paints and Pittsburg Paints. It is multi colored. The new panel says PPG (logo) Porter Paints. It has an orange background and white letters. It is 30 sq. ft. and permitted by the Sign Ordinance. The sign is internally illuminated. The Department would like to know if only the letters will shine through, or the entire sign face? The Department would also like to suggest that only the letters and logo shine through at night. The background would remain opaque. This would be consistent with other signs throughout the City. The Dept of Community Services (DOCS) recommends that the Committee vote on this item after all comments /concerns are addressed. (This item only requires a Plan Commission Committee vote.)
