Docket No. 09120007 ADLS Amend: PNC Bank Signage The applicant seeks approval to change signage from National City Bank to PNC Bank: 1 ground, 1 wall and 3 directional signs. The site is located at 2274 E. 116 St. and is zoned B -8 /Business in the Merchants' Square shopping center. Filed by Kyle Freeman of Freeman Signs. The applicant is requesting approval for a new wall sign and new panels for an existing ground sign. National City Bank is changing to PNC Bank and the new signage will reflect this change. The wall sign will be installed in the same location as the existing sign, on the north. It is 26.12 sq. ft. and permitted by the Sign Ordinance. It will be internally illuminated. The logo is orange and white and the letters are two shades of blue. The ground sign faces 116 St. and is 8.26 sq. ft. The background of the panel will be an opaque blue. The logo and letters will only shine through colored: orange and white logo, white and blue letters. There is a second panel at the bottom of the sign it will be the opaque blue to match the upper panel. There will also be new directional signs to reflect PNC's corporate colors. They will be installed in the same locations as the existing signs and will be non illuminated. They will be less than 3 sq. ft. in area and 3' tall. This size is allowed by the Sign Ordinance. Lastly, there will be change outs of other signs, i.e. handicapped parking signs, warning signs, clearance signs and bank hours. These signs are all less than 3 sq. ft. in area and are necessary for patron information and public safety. No sign permits or approvals are required for these signs. The Dept of Community Services (DOCS) recommends that the Committee votes to approve this item after all comments /concerns are addressed. (This item only requires a Plan Commission Committee vote.)
