INTRODUCTION
Midwest ISO is an existing office building at 701 City Center Drive and is located at the
northwest corner of Carmel Drive and Gilford Road. ISO is requesting the approval from
the City of Carmel to construct a new 912 square foot brick enclosure that will screen
several new air conditioning units. The new enclosure will be located along the west side
of the building south of the existing brick enclosure that now screens the two
transformers. Midwest ISO needs to increase their computer operations at this facility.
With the large amount of computers being added, additional air conditioning is required
to keep the computers in a cool atmosphere. The existing roof is not designed to handle
the additional AC Units.
The proposed brick enclosure will be constructed of the same type of brick and brick
I colors and will match same architectural detailing of the existing brick enclosure. The
proposed enclosure will be smaller in length, 36' -0" vs 50' -0 and lower in height, 8' -8"
vs 13' -4 The lower height will accommodate the air required for cooling the new AC
1 units.
The doors to the proposed enclosure will face the existing building and will not be seen
from the proposed City Center Street. The landscaping for the proposed enclosure will
consists of the same type and number of material that is presently screening the existing
enclosure.
1 CSO and Midwest ISO would greatly appreciate your consideration and approval for the
new enclosure.
