Thanks! -Angie Conn, Planning Administrator From: Chastain, Jenny A Sent: Thursday, April 15, 2010 3:29 PM To: Conn, Angelina V Subject: RE: Docket No. Assignment: (SDR) CW Weidler's Addition, lot 47 #10040002 SDR) /Chastain Kitchen Extension I know you guys are busy. Hate to be a pest. Thanks for your help if I could apply for the building permit tomorrow it would be great. I would feel like I could start to locate a good builder at that point. Thanks! Please make the window design more compatible with the rest of the windows on the house no half circle window at the top, and also complementing the window designs on that same south facade. 2. The Dept. requests that the existing tree remain. Will this tree be impacted by the building addition? 3. Please provide the roof pitch of the building addition. 4. Please verify that the building additional materials and colors will match the existing house's. 5. Is there any way to add small windows to the building addition facades that face east and west? The existing house has rectangular transom windows. I feel these would work over the south end window. 2. Yes, unfortunately the tree will impact the block foundation. We plan on replacing the tree with 1 or 2 trees in the landscaping. 3. I will provide this. 1 to 1 12 to 12. 4. Yes, the siding will match the existing siding and will be painted white. 5. No, windows on the east and west will not work. The bump out is only 8', still leaving a very small kitchen. I need those two walls to be solid to accommodate the refrigerator, cabinets and oven /microwave. The house has many windows 30 windows; 38 if 1 count the basement windows. I will check out the preferred species website and talk with Darren, too. I will provide you with the site plan indicating where we anticipate the tree /trees will be planted. Two years ago I planted 2 trees on the 7th Street side of the lot and they are doing nicely pretty blooms right now. It would be great to get the letter of grant this afternoon. Thanks so much for your help! I looked at the list of recommended trees and am favoring the Downy Serviceberry, Autumn Brilliance Serviceberry and Canada Red Cherry for their resilience, flowers fruit for the birds.
