Your generosity greatly contributed to the success of our fifth season and helped us become an even stronger attraction for the Carmel community. We were thrilled to present our entire season in Carmel in 2009. We were especially proud to be one of few theatre companies in the United States selected to premiere the long running Off Broadway smash hit FORBIDDEN BROADWAY, which we produced at the Mansion at Oak Hill April 1 to August 27. We were able to secure these rights as a result of our personal and professional connections in the theatre community as well as ATI's reputation for presenting the highest caliber local productions. New York director and FORBIDDEN BROADWAY veteran, Billy Kimmel, directed ATI's production, which was performed to sell out crowds. Our next production, MY WAY; A MUSICAL TRIBUTE TO FRANK SINATRA, was presented at the new Carmel. Community Playhouse at Clay Terrace to nightly standing ovations. We are extremely proud of the contribution we have been able to make to Carmel's growing reputation as an arts destination. ATI was voted the "Best Theatre Group" in 2007, 2008 and 2009 by the Indy Channel WRTV 6. Lou Harry and the Indianapolis Business Journal selected ATI as "Best of 2007" and "Best Bet of 2008/2009." Our 2009 productions attracted patrons to local Carmel venues and restaurants, particularly those at Clay Terrace. These productions were not only a local success, but attracted patrons from all over Indiana as well as from Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, and even New Jersey. We garnered media attention from The Indianapolis Star, NUVO, The Indianapolis Business Journal, WIBC, Fox59, WISH TV (Channel 8), Current In Carmel, Oldies 101.9FM, North Magazine, and Indianapolis Woman magazine. We partnered with many Carmel businesses and restaurants, including: The Mansion at Oak Hill, Regal Printing, Meridian Music, Primelife Enrichment, Current in Carmel, Luxe Furniture, Bar Louie, Kona Grill, Kincaid's, Oogles Googles, The Sweet Shoppe, and Barnes Noble. The Hamilton. County Visitors Convention Bureau demonstrated its belief in ATI's potential for increasing interest and tourism in Hamilton County by awarding ATI its highest available grant. We also continued our educational outreach by partnering with The Indianapolis Children's Museum, The Indiana Historical Society, Riley Hospital for Children and the Indianapolis Indians Organization, all of which recognize ATI as Carmel's Professional Theatre Company. ATI has consistently looked for and identified ways beyond producing its shows in Carmel to contribute to the Cannel community, including: holding our annual fundraisers, AN EVENING TO REMEMBER, at the Oak Hill Mansion in Carmel, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009; performing as the Andrews Sisters singing "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" at the City of Carmel's Veterans Day Ceremony 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009; presenting the "ATI Cabaret Series" at The Mansion at Oak. Hill in Carmel, including A ROSIE EVENING: A Tribute to Rosemary Clooney (2006), BROADWAY BRASS: The Legendary Ladies of Broadway (2007), THIS COULD BE THE START OF SOMETHING BIG (2008) performing at the "Carmel International Arts Festival" with the casts of MY WAY: A Musical Tribute to Frank Sinatra (2006), THE TAFFETAS (2007), and COLE: The Music of Cole Porter (2008); presenting our Mainstage production of FOREVER PLAID at Carmel Middle School in April 2008; singing at the Carmel City Center Groundbreaking Ceremony on March 13, 2007 followed by an interview by WISH TV Channel 8, where we promoted the Center and Mayor Brainard's vision for Carmel; bringing the entire cast of A Year With Frog and Toad to perform at the Carmel Fall Festival on October 27, 2007; providing discounted tickets to all students and parents of Carmel Clay Schools and free tickets to all Carmel Clay teachers to A Year With Frog and Toad in 2007 and 2008; holding an "Art for Art" Coloring contest for Hamilton County children, who received free tickets to A Year With Frog and Toad in exchange for a finished colored picture of Frog and Toad; performing as strolling carolers for the Carmel Arts and Design District's "Holiday in the Arts District" 2006 and 2007 and at "Second Saturdays" holiday event singing Christmas Carols in the ADDBAC tent on December 12 2009; continuing to be proud members of The Carmel Chamber of Commerce; including Carmel's City Partnership logo on all marketing materials, including postcards, programs and newspaper advertisements, which reached over 500,000 households; continuing to be active members of the Hamilton County Convention and Visitors Bureau; including the Hamilton County Convention and Visitors Bureau logo on all marketing materials, including postcards, programs and newspaper ads, which reached over 500,000 households for our production of FORBIDDEN BROAD WA Y; and cultivating a strong Board of Directors directly connected to Carmel and Hamilton County (70% of board members are Hamilton County residents and 50% percent are also residents of Carmel). Actors Theatre of Indiana has made it a top priority to do all that we can to be a part of and to enhance, the Carmel community, and we look forward to expanding our presence even more in 2010 by presenting our entire 2010 season in Carmel, starting with NUNSENSE at the Carmel Community Playhouse at Clay Terrace. We eagerly await the opening of the Regional Performing Arts Center and are excited to call it home. We strongly feel that our addition to the Regional Performing Arts Center is a needed one. ATI will bridge the gap between professional and community theatre. Being a top notch Actors Equity theatre company, ATI attracts talent from New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and other major arts centers. We also provide professional employment opportunities in Indiana for local talent opportunities that allow them to hone their skills while remaining close to home. In short, ATI embodies everything a Regional Performing Arts Center represents to its community. Taking all of these facts into consideration, we are asking for a grant of $50,000. This money is greatly needed and will allow us to produce in Carmel more of the top -notch shows for which ATI is known, strengthen our audience base, increase marketing to attract arts patrons to Carmel, attract quality directors and performers, premiere new works, and continue our outreach programs. We share your vision of making Carmel a top destination for Arts and Culture and are dedicated to the realization of that vision. We are so appreciative of your past support and hope you will continue to support Actors Theatre of Indiana and consider us a worthy not for -profit organization for your resources.
