As a manufacturer of products used throughout the United States and Canada, Urban Industries makes no attempt to determine product compliance with a specific building code. Urban's Engineering Data contains sufficient structural information on Urban's products' to enable Urban's customers to determine which product will best meet the requirements of a specific building code for their geographical area. Urban Industries provides this information freely. Should a customer require a signed or stamped document other than those provided, there will be a charge of $30.00 for each document. Urban Industries will use every effort to accommodate such requests in a timely and expeditious manner. The engineering data presented by Urban Industries in this reference booklet has been derived from actual experiments conducted by Urban Industries or their agents, and were made using testing procedures that conform to the methods described by the American Society for Testing Materials, ASTM Section E -72, "Conducting Strength Tests of Panels for Building Construction The installation of a skylight in any laminated panel reduces the strength of that panel regardless of the location of the skylight in the panel. For a panel that is manufactured incorporating OSB, the reduction in strength is 17% (multiply by 0.83) of the published value for the specific panel configuration. For all other panel designs, the reduction in strength associated with the installation of a skylight is 27% (multiply by .073) of the published values for that specific panel configuration. When installing, using, or questioning soil bearing loads, footers, foundations, post depths, etc., consult the local and or state codes that apply for your locale. Our material passes both EM. test 4450 and U.L. test 1256. 2. A bromine compound is added as a flame retardent to meet fire codes. It is introduced to the product during the impregnation of pentane (the blowing agent). 3. Flame spread will not exceed 10 and smoke development will not exceed 130 at any density. Please feel free to call if you have any questions, Ray, Thank you to you and Urban for your continued interest and loyalty to Falcon. Sincerely, FALCON MANUFACTURING IZV/P--4- 47' glA Dirk A. For their 3 in. thick, 1.5 pcf density product the applicable Surface Burning Characteristics are as follows: Flame Spread and Smoke Developed recorded while 'e material remained in the original test position. Ignition of molten residue on the furnace floor resulted in flame travel equivalent to calculated flame i. spread classification of 0 and smoke developed classification of 50 to 250. The only evidence UL provides to identify products which have been produced under its Classification and Follow -Up Service Program is the appearance of the UL Classification Marking on the product (or accompanying Certificate).
