Public Hearing: City of Carmel Carmel /Clay Board of Zoning Appeals Hearing Officer July 11, 2002 The meeting was held at 1:00 PM in the Department of Community Services Conference Room on the Third Floor of Carmel City Hall on July 11, 2002. The Hearing Officer was Pat Rice. Department of Community Services Staff in attendance Laurence Lillig and Adrienne Keeling. John Molitor, Legal Counsel, was also present. 1 -2e. Carmel Science Technology Park, Block 1 The Arbors (V- 131 -02; V- 132 -02) Petitioner seeks approval of the following Development Standards Variances: V- 131 -02 §25.7.02 -2(b): Number Type Two (2) Multi- family Complex Identification Signs V- 132 -02 §25.7.02 -2(e): Location Multi- family Complex Identification Sign on South Guilford Road The site is located at 382 Arbor Drive. The site is zoned M- 3/Manufacturing. Filed by Lynnette Deogracias of Buckingham Arbors, LLC. Present for Petitioner: Lynnette Deogracias and David Leazenby of Buckingham Arbors, LLC, 333 N. Pennsylvania Street, 10 floor, Indianapolis, IN 46204. Petitioner is requesting a sign along Guilford where they do not have an entrance and a second identification sign for the complex. This will replace a previous sign without a permit. This sign will distinguish this complex from other multi family complexes along Guilford Road. Members of the public were invited to speak in favor or opposition to the petition; no one appeared. Department Recommendation: Favorable consideration with the Condition that the Petitioner seeks the necessary Board of Public Works approvals to place the sign within the 20 -foot drainage and utility easement. Laurence Lillig reported the Special Study Committee of the Plan Commission gave ADLS approval in June for the signs. Mrs. Rice required that the design of the sign on Guilford Road be consistent with the existing signs for Providence at Old Meridian. Petitioner will comply. Mrs. Rice approved Docket No. V- 131 -02. Mrs. Rice approved Docket No. V- 132.02 with the following conditions: 1. That the Petitioner seeks the necessary Board of Public Works approvals to place the sign within the 20 -foot drainage and utility easement.
