We have consulted with the Landscape Architect and below are his responses. 1. The "crus galli Inermis" Variety of hawthornes are very susceptible to diseases and require much more maintenance than do other varieties. It is suggested that another species of ornamental tree be proposed such as redbud, serviceberry, ivory silk Japanese lilac tree, or tri -color beech trees. Response: The Crataegus crus -galli 'Inermis' has been substituted with CC Cercis canadensis, Redbud, 8' multistem on the revised drawings. 2. The two ornamental trees on the south west corner of the building are not marked as fo what species they are. They must be labeled on the plan. Response: The ornamental trees were previously mis- labeled. They have been marked as AG Amelanchier x grandifolia 'Autumn Brilliance' on the updated plans. 3. The number of each species needs to be shown on the plant schedule. Response: Species quantities have been provided on the plant schedule on sheet L101. 4. A graphic needs to be shown on L102 for tree protection method (fencing or whatever method is chosen) and then on L101 where it will be placed. Response: Tree protection is shown in plan and detail in the 'C'- series drawings. A note referencing this has been included on L101. 5. Are there going to be any plants placed along the east and south perimeters of the building except around the playground? Response: The Owner has requested that no plants be placed along the south and east perimeter of the building in order to accommodate future growth of the campus. The Master Plan for the facility calls for future building additions to connect to the proposed building in these areas. ATTN: David Lach, PE 3939 Priority Way South Drive, Suite 400 Indianapolis, IN 46240 VIA E -MAIL: dlach @cripe.biz RE: Hazel Dell Christian Church Dear Mr. Lach: We have reviewed the construction plans submitted to the Hamilton County Surveyor's Office on December 18, 2009, for this project and have the following comments: 1. The proposed project falls in the incorporated area and MS4 jurisdiction of the City of Carmel. 2. The proposed project DOES fall in a Carmel Wellhead Protection Zone. 3. The proposed project does fall in the Emily Vestal Regulated Drain Watershed. 4. The proposed project does not change the release rates from the previously approved master drainage plan and the basin changes are compliant with the previous approval. 5. No permits will be required for this proposed project. 6. Please submit a final copy of the construction plan/drainage calculations after all changes requested by all TAC agencies are completed. Should you have any questions, I can be reached at 317 776 -8495. The "crus -galli Inermis" Variety of hawthornes are very suseptable to diseases and require much more maintenance than do other varieties. It is suggested that another species of ornamental tree be proposed such as redbud, serviceberry, ivory silk Japanese lilac tree, or tri -color beech trees. 2. The two ornamental trees on the south west corner of the building are not marked as to what species they are. They must be labeled on the plan. 3. The number of each species needs to be shown on the plant schedule. 4. A graphic needs to be shown on L102 for tree protection method (fencing or whatever method is chosen) and then on L101 where it will be placed. 5. Are there going to be any plants placed along the east and south perimeters of the building except around the playground? Please reply to these comments in writing and by amended plans. Please contact me by phone or email if there are any comments or questions.
