HomeMy WebLinkAboutD-611 1990 Elected Officials SalaryORDINANCE D -611 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE D -533A ESTABLISHING BI- WEEKLY SALARIES FOR ELECTED CITY OFFICIALS AND ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEMBERS WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana, desires to set the salaries of certain elected officials and advisory committee members of said City of Carmel, Indiana and, WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Carmel, Indiana, desires to establish the bi- weekly rate of pay for elected officials. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED that the salaries and bi- weekly salaries of elected officials shall be as follows commencing January 1, 1990, and continuing through 1991 or until a new ordinance is passed: Mayor's Salary 1990 $1,569.23 1991 $1,648.08 Clerk Treasurer's Salary 1990 1,331.55 1991 1,398.08 Judge's Salary 1990 807.70 1991 848.08 Council Member's Salary 1990 84.81 1991 89.04 In addition to the base received by Council members, each member shall receive the sum of $30.00 for each meeting of the Council they attend. The $30.00 shall apply to regular or special meetings of the full Council but shall not apply to the committee meetings. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that the salaries of the Mayor, Clerk Treasurer and City Council members shall be paid 1/3 from tax revenue, 1/3 from Water Utility and 1/3 from Sewer Utility and the Judge of the City Court shall be paid entirely from tax revenue. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, that appointed members of the Plan Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, Cable TV Advisory Committee and Economic Development Committee be paid the sum of $35.00 per meeting attended but shall not apply to committee meetings and that said sum for the Plan Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, Cable TV Advisory Committee be paid from tax revenues and the sum for Economic Development Committee be paid from fees received by said committee. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the appointed members of the Board of Public Works and Safety be paid a salary of $2000.00 per year. In addition to the salary, the members of the Board of Public Works and Safety shall be paid $35.00 per meeting attended and that the Board of Public Works and Safety be paid 1/3 from tax revenue, 1/3 from Water Utility and 1/3 from Sewer Utility. BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the city employees of the Department of Community Development shall be entitled to receive the sum of $35.00 per meeting, as additional compensation for attending each regularly scheduled meeting of the Plan Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, or their respective committees. Further, such additional compensation shall be paid from the budget of the Plan Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals. THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE.
