GENERAL DEMOLITION NOTES:
1. DISCREPANCIES BETWEEN THESE DRAWINGS AND ACTUAL FIELD CONDITIONS SHALL
BE BROUGHT TO THE ARCHITECT'S ATTENTION IMMEDIATELY.
2. OWNER WILL REMOVE SALVAGEABLE ITEMS (I.E. EQUIPMENT,
ETC.) BEFORE CONTRACTOR BEGINS DEMOLITION /CONSTRUCTION WORK.
3. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROTECT EXISTING SURFACES TO REMAIN IN AREAS ADJACENT
TO DEMOLITION WORK.
4. DESCRIPTIONS OF ITEMS TO BE REMOVED ARE GENERAL IN NATURE, AND THE CON-
TRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REMOVING ITEMS RELATED TO THE PRIMARY
ITEM DESCRIBED (I.E. ANCHORAGE, TRIM, ADHESIVE, PIPING, ETC.)
5. CONTRACTOR SI-IALL REPAIR ALL SURFACES LEFT EXPOSED BY DEMOLITION TO
MATCI -I SURROUNDING MATERIALS. CONTRACTOR SI-IALL REPAIR EXISTING FLOOR,
BASE, WALL CEILING SURFACES AS NECESSARY TO CORRECT DEFECTS EITHER
CAUSED OR EXPOSED BY DEMOLITION WORK. AREAS NOTED TO BE REPAIRED OR
PATCHED ON THE DRAWINGS ARE GIVEN TO AID THE CONTRACTOR, SHALL NOT BE
INTERPRETED TO LIMIT THE SCOPE OF WORK.
6. CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE TI-IE DISCONNECT, REMOVAL AND /OR CAPPING
OF ALL EXISTING UTILITIES AS REQUIRED PRIOR TO THE REMOVAL OF ANY RELATED
ITEMS.
7. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE TO INSPECT EXISTING CONDITIONS AND
BECOME FAMILIAR WITH PREFATORY WORK REQUIRED FOR ALL AREAS TO RECEIVE
NEW FINISHES. PATCHING OF HOLES ON WALLS, REMOVAL OF ADHESIVES, AND ALL
OTHER PREPATORY WORK PER MANUFACTURER'S STANDARDS 15 REQUIRED FOR ALL
SURFACES SCHEDULED TO RECEIVE FLOOR COVERINGS, PAINT OR WALL COVERING.
8. REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL OF ALL ITEMS INDICATED ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF
THE CONTRACTOR. THE OWNER SI-IALL, HOWEVER, RETAIN THE FIRST RIGHT OF REFUSAL
FOR ALL ITEMS NOTED TO BE REMOVED WITHIN THE SCOPE OF WORK.
q. CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLY WITH GOVERNING EPA REGULATIONS.
COMPLY WITH HAULING AND DISPOSAL REGULATIONS OF AUTHORITIES HAVING JURISDICTION.
10. OWNER AND ARCHITECT ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ITEMS /STRUCTURES
TO BE DEMOLISI -IED. CONDITIONS EXISTING AT TIME OF INSPECTION FOR BIDDING
PURPOSES WILL BE MAINTAINED BY THE OWNER AS FAR AS PRACTICAL.
11. IT IS NOT EXPECTED THAT HAZARDOUS MATERIALS WILL BE ENCOUNTERED
IN WORK. IF MATERIALS SUSPECTED OF CONTAINING HAZARDOUS MATERIALS
ARE ENCOUNTERED, DO NOT DISTURB; IMMEDIATELY NOTIFY THE ARCHITECT.
12. STORAGE OR SALE OF REMOVED ITEMS OR MATERIALS ON -SITE

TO REMAIN, USING POWER DRIVEN SAW, THEN REMOVE CONCRETE BETWEEN SAN CUTS.

20. PROMPTLY REPAIR DAMAGE TO ADJACENT CONSTRUCTION CAUSED BY DEMOLITION OPERATIONS.
21. EXCEPT FOR ITEMS OR MATERIALS INDICATED TO BE REUSED, SALVAGED, REINSTALLED,
