CARMEL PLAN COMMISSION
SPECIAL STUDIES COMMITTEE
TUESDAY, JANUARY 20, 2004
The Special Studies Committee met in the Caucus Rooms of City Hall, Carmel, Indiana at 6:30 PM,
prior to the full Commission meeting to consider the following items:
Members present: Jerry Chomanczuk; Leo Dierckman; Dan Dutcher; Wayne Haney; Mark
Rattermann; the Department of Community Services was represented by Jon Dobosiewicz.
1. Docket No. 190 -03 ADLS Amend #03110045)
McKinley Carmel Woods- ADLS Amendment
The applicant seeks approval for renovations for apartment homes and townhomes.
The site is located SE of North Range Line Rd US 31, and the site is zoned B-
3 /Business within the US 31 US 421 Overlay Zones.
Filed by Craig Willian of McKinley Associates.
Craig Willian of McKinley Associates appeared before the Special Study Committee
representing the applicant. This applicant appeared before the Special Study Committee January
6, 2004 and received favorable comments. The one, unresolved issue was the color of the
exterior of the buildings displayed as a shade of yellow. The Committee tabled the petitioner
who agreed to return to Committee with a different color choice.
Mr. Willian displayed color samples of earthen tones, neutrals, beige, tan, etc., and the Committee
was very much in favor of the colors shown.
Mark Rattermann moved for the approval of Docket No. 190 -03 ADLS Amend, McKinley
Carmel Woods, ADLS Amendment, with the earth tones, neutral colors shown, seconded by Dan
Dutcher and Approved 5 -0.
There being no further business to come before the Committee, the meeting adjourned at 6:50
PM.
