Docket No. 10050011 ADLS Amend: Technicolor Signage The applicant seeks approval for 5 new wall signs, 2 modified ground signs and 10 modified directional signs. The site is located at 101 W. 103rd St. and is zoned B -1 within the US 31 Overlay zone. Filed by Jon Dobosiewicz of Nelson Frankenberger on behalf of Technicolor. The Petitioner seeks approval for 17 new signs; these will replace sign faces and /or text of 17 existing signs. Please see your packets for specific placement and sign details. There will be 10 directional, five wall and two ground signs. The five wall signs required variances for size and were granted approval of Docket Nos. 07070061 V 07070065 V in August of 2007 at the BZA. One new variance is sought for this approval. That is for exemption from the 25% logo restriction for wall signs. The Technicolor logo is more than 50% of their sign. This variance will be heard by the June 28, 2010 BZA Hearing Officer. Thomson is changing its corporate name and branding to Technicolor. The Technicolor sign is the name in black and then a color bar below it. Petitioner, please specify how the main wall signs #2 and 13) will be illuminated. The directional signs will have a new face placed over the existing structure. These signs will not be illuminated. The ground ID sign 4) face will have a new panel placed within the cabinet and will be internally illuminated. The entrance wall signs 3, 7 and 12) will not be illuminated and will be mounted directly to the wall. The front monument #9) will not be illuminated. All new wall signs will be less than the existing Thomson signs in square footage. After all questions and concerns are addressed, the Dept of Community Services (DOCS) recommends that the Committee approves these items.
