The Special Studies Committee considered the following items:
Docket No. 09050019 ADLS Amend: Penn Mark Plaza I II
The applicant seeks design approval for an updated sign package, reflecting possible sign
locations and 2 potential new signs. The site is located at 11595 N. Meridian St. and is zoned B-
6 /Business within the US 31 Overlay. Filed by Steve Granner of Bose McKinney Evans on
behalf of Zeller Management Corporation.
Present for Petitioner: Steve Granner, Zoning Consultant, 111 Monument Circle, Indianapolis;
Christian Glover, Zeller Management Corporation.
Overview:
ADLS Amend filed to adopt a sign program for Penn Mark I and II (similar to Meridian Mark I
and II)
Request would allow 3 identification wall signs for each of the two buildings
Penn Mark II is a 5 -story building and has approval for 3 wall signs.
Penn Mark I is an 8 -story building— requesting one additional sign to be consistent With
Meridian Mark and Lauth on I -465.
To facilitate leasing activities, it should be clear what signs would be approved and where they
can be located
No sign larger than 105 square feet
Six (6) signs totaling no more than 550 square feet

Signs are ivory color faces, bronze returns and caps, single line, no stacked copy, 4 ft maximum
height in letter size
Exhibits shows signs facing Meridian choice of two allowed either placing one sign in the
middle of each building and on the other elevations or two signs on the Meridian Street
elevation, outside location
Department Report, Rachel Boone:
Only change is location
BZA approved variances for 2 signs facing Meridian if located at corners of buildings —not one
sign in the middle must be symmetrical
Color of sign and return stays the same
25% logo rule stays the same
Department recommends positive consideration
Motion: Woody Rider "to approve Docket No. 09050019 ADLS Amend, Penn mark Plaza I II as
presented," seconded by Leo Dierckman, voted 3 -0 Motion Approved.
2. Docket No. 09060001 ADLS Amend: Empire Lacrosse
The applicant seeks design approval for I new wall sign. The site is located at 9700 Lakeshore
Dr. East, Suite B, and is zoned B -3 /Business. Filed by Chris Ber a of Empire Lacrosse.

The applicant seeks site plan and design approval for a child care facility. The site is located at
the southeast corner of Carmel Dr. Adams St. It is zoned M- 3/Manufacturing. Filed by Mark
Thorpe of The Schneider Corp. for Primrose School Franchising Co.
