GENERAL NOTES:
1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS AND ELEVATIONS IN THE FIELD
PRIOR TO THE START OF CONSTRUCTION. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE
RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL FIELD DIMENSIONS AND ELEVATIONS DURING THE ENTIRE
CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE. IF ANY DISCREPANCIES ARE FOUND IN THESE
ENGINEERING PLANS, LANDSCAPE PLANS, OR SURVEY PLANS FROM ACTUAL
FIELD CONDITIONS, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONTACT THE WE IMMEDIATELY.
2. IT IS THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO NOTIFY ALL UTILITY COMPANIES AND
DEPARTMENTS 72 HOURS BEFORE COMMENCING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES TO
VERIFY ANY UTILITIES THAT MAY BE PRESENT ON SITE. ALL VERIFICATIONS,
LOCATIONS, SIZE AND DEPTHS SHALL BE MADE BY THE APPROPRIATE UTILITY
COMPANIES OR DEPARTMENTS. WHEN EXCAVATING AROUND OR OVER EXISTING
UTILITIES, THE CONTRACTOR MUST NOTIFY THE UTILITY COMPANY OR
DEPARTMENT SO A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE UTILITY CAN BE PRESENT DURING
THE EXCAVATION TO INSTRUCT AND OBSERVE DURING THE EXCAVATION.
3. ALL CONSTRUCTION METHODS AND MATERIALS MUST GONFORM TO CURRENT
STANDARDS AND SPECIFICATIONS OF THE FEDERAL, STATE, COUNTY, CITY DR
LOCAL REQUIREMENTS, WHCHEVER HAS JURISDICTION.
4. EXISTING PAVEMENTS, SIDEWALKS, CURBS. DRIVEWAYS, ELECTRICAL
TRANSFORMERS AND PADS, DITCHES, DRAINAGE PIPES AND STRUCTURES,
FENCES, LAWNS, TREES, BUSHES, MAILBOXES, SIGNS, POWER P0115, ETC., TO
REMAIN AND BE PROTECTED FROM DAMAGE BY THE CONTRACTOR. ANY DAMAGE
DURING CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE RESTORED, RECONSTRUCTED OR REPLACED
BY THE CONTRACTOR AT HIS EXPENSE. ALL DAMAGES SHALL BE RESTORED OR
REPLACED TO AT LEAST THOR ORIGINAL CONDITION DR AS REQUIRED OR
DICTATED BY FEDERAL, STATE, COUNTY, CITY OR LOCAL AGENCIES.
5. IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO BEM ALL EXPENSES
TO REMOVE, RELOCATE AND /OR MODIFY ALL UTILITIES, PRNATE OR PUBLIC, OR
OTHERWISE. R FURTHER SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR
TO VERIFY WITH EACH UTILITY COMPANY OR DEPARTMENT WHO IS RESPONSIBLE
TO REMOVE, RELOCATE, AND /OR MODIFY SUCH UTILITY EXISTING OR PROPOSED.
IT FURTHER SHALL BE THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO VERIFY IF ANY
FUTURE UTRITI6 ARE PLANNED AND HOW R MAY AFFECT THIS PROJECT AND
IT'S OWNER AS TO THEIR FUTURE RESPONSIBILAIES.
6. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE TO PROVIDE AT HIS EXPENSE ALL
AUTOMOBILE AND PEDESINIAN TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES REQUIRED BY
FEDERAL, STATE, COUNTY, ern' OR LOCAL AGENCIES.
7. ALL AREAS WHERE THE EXISTING PAVEMENT OR PAVEMENTS ARE DAMAGED
DURING CONSTRUCTION FROM HEAVY EQUIPMENT, FUEL OIL, OIL, GASOLINE,
ETC., BY THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR, SUBCONTRACTOR, OR SUPPLIERS, SHALL
BE RESTORED, RECONSTRUCTED OR REPLACED BY THE CONTRACTOR AT HIS
EXPENSE AS REQUIRED OR DICTATED BY FEDERAL, STATE, COUNTY, CITY OR
LOCAL AGENCIES. TH15 RESTORATION, RECONSTRUCTION, OR REPLACEMENT
SHALL TAKE PLACE AT THE END OF THE PROJECT CONSTRUCTION OR DURING
THE SCHEDULED PAVING.
8. ALL 4" CONCRETE PAVEMENTS OR SIDEWALKS ARE NOT TO EXCEED 3/4" SLOPE
PER FOOT. CONTROL JOINTS SHALL NOT EXCEED 10' -0' MAXIMUM ON CENTER.
EXPANSION JOINTS SHALL NOT EXCEED 40' -0" MAXIMUM ON CENTER UNLESS
OTHERWISE NOTED OR INDICATED ON THE PLANS.
9. ALL CONCRETE CURBS SHALL BE TOOLED FOR CONTROL JOINTS NOT TO
EXCEED 10' -O' MAXIMUM ON CENTER. EXPANSION JOINTS SHALL NOT EXCEED
40' -0' MAXIMUM ON CENTER. CONTROL JOINTS MAY BE SAW CUT WITHIN 24
HOURS AFTER THE CURBS ARE POURED.
10. ALL DIMENSIONS OF PAVEMENTS ARE TO THE EDGE OF PAVEMENT OR FACE OF
CURB UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
ALL DIMENSIONS ARE PARALLEL AND PERPENDICULAR TO THE BASE ONES,
PROPERTY LINES, AND /OR BUILDING LINES UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
12. ALL RADII INDICATED ARE TO FACE OF CURB AND SHALL BE FORMED AS
CIRCULAR ARCS.
13. PROVIDE SMOOTH TRANSITION FROM NEWLY PAVED ARMS TO EXISTING AREAS
AS NECESSARY.
14. ALL AREAS WHERE THE PROPOSED ASPHALT PAVEMENT MEETS THE EXISTING
PAVEMENT, THE EXISTING PAVEMENT EDGE SHALL BE FREE OF ALL LOOSE
MATERIALS. THE EDGE OF THE EXISTING ASPHALT SHALL BE SAW CUT NEAT,
TRUE TO LINE, AND SEALED WITH A TACK COAT MATERIAL BEFORE THE NEW
ASPHALT 15 INSTALLED.
15. ALL HANDICAP RAMPS SHALL NOT EXCEED A SLOPE OF 1" IN 12"
LONGITUDINALLY. HANDICAP RAMPS, SIGNS, AND SPACES SHALL BE IN
ACCORDANCE WITH ADA REQUIREMENTS.
