The meeting was held at 6:30 PM in the Caucus Room of City Hall, Carmel, Indiana on Monday, February
28, 2005. The Hearing Officer was Leo Dierckman.
Department of Community Services Staff in attendance was Angie Conn; John Molitor, Legal Counsnel,
was also present.

Petitioner seeks the following development standards variance approvals:
Docket No. 05010031 V Chapter 27.05.02 -07.b sign oriented east
Docket No. 05010032 V Chapter 27.05.02 -05.c institutional sign size
Docket No. 05010033 V Chapter 27.05.02 -05.b of signs
The site is located at 520 East Main St, and the site is zoned R -2 /Residence.
Filed by Allen Cradler of Fanning /Howey Associates, Inc for Carmel/Clay Schools
Present for the Petitioner: Allen Cradler. The additional institutional sign is to honor Dr. William Duke,
former principal and to identify parts of the building as a performing arts center. The sign is located on the
new addition on the east side of the building. It is non illuminated and is in the same size range of other
signs identifying parts of the building.
Mr. Dierckman APPROVED all three variances, 05010031V, 05010032V and 05010033V.

MOVED to the 7:00 Full BZA Board meeting.
The applicant seeks special use approval to construct sports fields and parking:

Docket No. 05020006 V Chapter 27.03.0 parking lot curbing
The site is located at the northwest corner of River Rd and 126 Street. The site is zoned
S -1 /Residence -Low Density and is within the Special Flood Hazard Zone.
