I am completely buried right now and will try to find some time to review this ASAP. Do you have an exhibit of the proposed location? From: Jim Lancaster j mailto :ilancaster©aindy.rr.coml Sent: Friday, October 15, 2010 1:04 PM To: Duncan, Gary R Subject: Ballantrae Subdivision Decorative Gate Project 1 We have filed an ADLS AMENDACf APPLICATION with Angie Conn at the pt. of Community Services for the above mentioned landscaping project. Angie had contacted you regarding your input and you had suggested that a Consent -to- Encroach needed to be obtained. The decorative fence would be behind the curb line and would be locked into position so that it is always open and can not be closed. Please respond to this email with instructions on how I need to proceed to obtain a Consent -to- Encroach. Thanks for your assistance, Jim Lancaster President-- Ballantrae HOA 625 -5179 2 Sept. 15, 2010 Jim: 0 Thanks for mailing those items back to me. Within this mailing is the ADLS Amendment application you will need to fill out and submit to our department, for the administrative gate proposal review /approval. I have already created a file with our correspondence and documents of the plat and aerial photo of the entry. On the application, only fill out what is relevant to your petition. We will need to see some photo examples and /or design specifications for the gate design, height, colors, and materials. The filing fee will be waived. Also within this mailing is a copy of an email from the Carmel Engineering Dept. You will have to work with their department to get Consent to Encroach approval from the Board of Public Works, to have the gate located within the public road right of way. When that approval is granted, our department would like a copy of that Consent to Encroach, so we can add it to our file. We are almost to the finish line with this one! Please review the attached proposal, and let me know what you think, and if they will need consent to encroach approval in addition to the planning /zoning approvals. Thanks! Angie 1 Sept. 1, 2010 Hi, Jim I am sending you these items, to help you with your proposal for the decorative gate that is to remain open all the time. You can draw on these to mark the location of the proposed gate, in relation to the brick wall and the property lines. Sept. 9, 2010 Angie Conn, Planning Administrator City of Carmel Planning Zoning Division Dear Angie, Please find attached; -Copy of your letter dated Sept 1 (with enclosures) -Color diagram of proposed fencing/gating for Ballantrae Subdivision Notice that the pink color is the existing brick wall and pillars. The black color represents the proposed wrought iron fencing, the green color represents the proposed swing gates (to be left open) and the blue represents the proposed main gates (to be locked in the open position). Our intention is to give a more private /intimate look while maintaining open access to the property. We see this as a decorative approach rather than security oriented. Please review for approval and call if you have any questions or need more information.
