Dear Mike:
The City of Westfield is writing this letter in opposition of the proposed Gas Station at the southwest
corner of 146` street and River Road within the Legacy development.
The proposed project falls within the City of Carmel's and the Indianapolis Water company's wellhead
protection zones and is close to the City of Westfield's wellhead protection zone. The soils on the site
are very porous and one of the soils, Fox Loam FnB2 can have sand and gravel within 36 inches of the
surface which will allow fuel spills or tank leaks to enter the aquifer quickly and easily.
We believe all ground water aquifers should be protected and the land use on this site has too high a
potential to contaminate ground water and should not be approved.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
