It is zoned C -1 /City Center District. Filed by the Department of Community Services on behalf of the Carmel Redevelopment Commission. Present for Petitioner: Steve Libman and David Anderson, Center for the Performing Arts; Brandon Bogan, CSO Architects; Matt Worthley, Carmel Redevelopment Commission Mr. Dierckman had read all the documents Signage crucial to ongoing positive branding for the center Standard signage for other performing arts centers Signage endorsed by CSO Public Hearing closed Department Report: Rachel Boone Department supported sign types and ground sign height Depai l,uent supported Palladium banners and Tarkington blade banners on north elevation Page 1 of 1 WWW.CARMEL.IN.GOV ONE CIVIC SQUARE, CARMEL, IN 46032 (317) 571 -2417 Carmel Board of Zoning Appeals January 18, 2011 o Excessive size and number of banners o Due to cost, was told those banners would not be pursued o Technically banners are not permitted Department recommended positive consideration of Dockets Nos. 11010002V and 11010003 V. The Department recommended positive consideration of Docket No. 11010004V for the Palladium banners and Tarkington Blade banners, but negative consideration for all other Tarkington banners Discussion: Location of excessive signage indicated Signage needed to advertise /announce performances None along Monon Trail proposed Adequate site signage included in the sign package Directional signage is different from performance (advertising) signage Banners are often a piece of art Could apply later for additional banners Action: Mr. Dierckman APPROVED Docket Nos. 11010002 V thru 11010004 V, The Center for the Performing Arts signage, for sign types, ground sign height, and maximum sign area with the exception Docket No. 11010004 V for maximum sign area would be approved for 12 months.
