issues. Failure to list all life safety issues does not relieve the contractors from complying with federal, state and local
codes, the contractural agreement between the contractor and the owner,and the other governing bodies which have
jursidiction on this project. The following are interim life safety code issues which are specific to this project and must be
addressed.
A. Insure all exits provide free and unobstructed egress.
B. Smoking shall be prohibited in all areas of the building. Campus is smoke free environment.
C. Develop and enforce storage, housekeeping and debris removal procedures that reduce the flammable and
combustible fire load to the lowest level necessary for daily operations.
D. Secure all tools and construction materials during breaks and non-construction hours.
E. IOSHA requires material safety data sheets (MSDS) for all materials being used or stored on this project be
made available to all workers on this jobsite.
2. The contractors shall be responsible for informing the owner in writing on a bi-weekly basis, the construction schedule for
the approaching two weeks construction period. Any storage materials access or egress problems, traffic flow or normal
owner operations which are to be affected must be protected and/or agreed upon by owner. All costs shall be incurred by
the general contractor.
3. Any services which must be temporarily shut off must be coordinated with the owner.
4. All construction areas, removal traffic pattern areas and associated work areas shall be kept clean of debris by the
contractors daily.
5. Fire rated wall and ceiling penetrations must comply with E-814.
6. The general contractor shall provide all necessary fire treated wood blocking for all trades. Continuous blocking required
for all wall hung shelving, casework, grab bars and handrails. Brace walls with wall hung items to deck as by printed stud
mfg. recommendations.
7. Dimensions are to face of stud or masonry, unless otherwise noted.
8. Existing surfaces shall be prepared to accept new finishes, per finish material manufacturer recommendations. This
preperation of substrate shall be the responsibility of the particular finish contractor. If no preperation work is done to
surfaces, the contractor accepts the conditions as they are, and is responsible for the performance of the material.
9. "Construction Limits" generally illustrate areas of new construction. Other work may be required for demolition or
replacement of the other systems including the MEP.
10. Contractor to provide ten-day notice with owner-supplied forms for all system shut-downs to facilities. Minimal exceptions
will be made in cases of emergency or schedule conflicts on an owner-determined basis.
1. General Contractor is responsibleto provide all design, material, and labor under seperate vender contract as
required for a complete installation in compliance with all State, Local, and Health Department Building Codes.
2. Architectural Documents indicating Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing work are schematic concepts.
Documents are for reference only.
3. Architectural Documents provide suggested fixture locations and fixture types. All sizing, circuiting, and switching
to be vendor engineered by contractor.
4. HVAC Systems to be vendor engineered under seperate contract.
5. Electrical Power and Data Systems to be vendor engineered under seperate contract.
6. Lighting Systems to be vendor engineered under seperate contract.
