HomeMy WebLinkAboutD-2033-11 FAILED 25 mph Designated School Zones7:00 a.m. to 7: 00 p.m. on school days; and ORDINANCE D- 2033 -1 AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARMEL INDI A AMENDING CHAPTER 8 ARTICLE 3 SECTION 8-17 OF THE CARMEL CITY I DE WHEREAS, pursuant to I.C. 9- 21 -5 -6, the City has established school zone speed limits within its corporate boundaries; and WHEREAS, pursuant to City Code Section 8 -17, those school zones se Ot. ently in effect from WHEREAS, it is now in the public interest to revise the timparlo during which City school zone speed limits are in effect to better reflect current school usage. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Common Pouncil of the City of Carmel, Indiana, as follows: Section 1. The foregoing Recitals are inco o ral Q this reference. S g g rp y Section 2. Chapter 8, Article 3, Section 8 -17, armel City Code should be and the same is v hereby amended to read as follows: "8 -17. Twenty -five m.p.h. in Designated ool Zones. Section 3. All prior ordinances er parts thereof inconsistent with any provision of this Ordinance are hereby repealed, to the extent of uch inconsistency only, as of the effective date of this Ordinance. However, the repeal or amendmen .y this Ordinance of any other ordinance does not affect any rights or liabilities accrued, penalties inc red or proceedings begun prior to the effective date of this Ordinance. Those rights, liabilities and pr eedings are continued and penalties shall be imposed and enforced under such repealed or amended o Finance as if this Ordinance had not been adopted. Section 5. If a portion of this Ordinance is for any reason declared to be unconstitutional or invalid, such decisio shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this Ordinance so long as enforcement of sa can be given the same effect.
