AND NOT ATTACHED TO THE BUILDING ARE FOR REFERENCE ONLY AND ARE NOT TO
BE PROVIDED AS PART OF THE WORK UNLESS SPECIFICALLY STATED TO BE PROVIDED.
19. REPAIR GYPSUM WALLBOARD WHERE DEMOLITION HAS OCCURRED AT
REMAINING WALLS. REPAIR ANY GYPSUM BOARD DAMAGED BY DEMOLITION.
PROVIDE EXPANSION JOINTS IN DRYWALL WHERE NEW WALLS MEET OR ADJOIN TO
EXISTING CORE WALLS.
20. PATCH ALL GYPSUM WALLBOARD AT AREAS OF ELECTRICAL, DATA AND SWITCH
DEVICES BEING REMOVED. PATCH HOLE WITH DRYWALL, TAPE, SPACKLE AND
PREPARE FOR FINISH.
21. ALL MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL, PLUMBING, FIRE SUPPRESSION, AND FIRE ALARM
SYSTEMS SHALL BE DESIGNED AND INSTALLED BY THE RESPECTIVE DESIGN/BUILD
CONTRACTORS PER AGREEMENT WITH THE OWNER. ALL TRADES SHALL DESIGN AND
INSTALL THEIR RESPECTIVE SYSTEMS IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE STATE
AND LOCAL BUILDING CODES. COORDINATE WITH THE ARCHITECT IF ADDITIONAL
INFORMATION IS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO DO THE WORK IN THE FIELD. SCHOTT
DESIGN, INC. DOES NOT HAVE CHARGE OR RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE DESIGN OR
INSTALLATION OF SYSTEMS EXECUTED AS DESIGN/BUILD WITH THE OWNER.
22. WHEN REQUIRED BY STATE BUILDING CODE, THE CONTRACTOR(S) SHALL PROVIDE
DESIGN/BUILD DRAWINGS FOR MECHANICAL, PLUMBING, ELECTRICAL, OR FIRE
SUPPRESSION. DRAWINGS SHALL BE CERTIFIED BY A LICENSED ENGINEER AND
SUBMITTED BY THE CONTRACTOR FOR STATE DESIGN REVIEW.
23. ALL EQUIPMENT AND/OR FIXTURES SHALL BE INSTALLED IN STRICT ACCORDANCE
WITH THE MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDATIONS OR INSTRUCTIONS.
24. EXECUTE A THOROUGH FINAL CLEAN AND INSPECTION OF THE SPACE UPON
COMPLETION OF THE PROJECT. ALL SURFACES, FIXTURES, AND EQUIPMENT SHALL BE
CLEAN, AND THE SPACE SHALL BE TURNED OVER TO THE OWNER IN A CONDITION
THAT REPRESENTS THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF CARE AND PROFESSIONALISM. ENSURE ALL
GENERAL CONTRACTOR INSTALLED APPLIANCE S WORK & DO NOT LEAK.
25. PROVIDE TO THE OWNER ALL OPERATION AND/OR MAINTENANCE MANUALS, OR
INSTRUCTIONS FOR ALL EQUIPMENT AND SYSTEMS AT THE COMPLETION OF THE
PROJECT.
26. ALL PLAN DIMENSIONS ARE FROM FACE OF EXISTING FINISH TO FACE OF NEW
GYPSUM BOARD WALL, OR FACE TO FACE OF NEW GYPSUM BOARD WALL. DO NOT
SCALE DRAWINGS. WRITTEN DIMENSIONS GOVERN.
27. CONTRACTOR TO PROVIDE AN ALLOWANCE FOR CLEANING EXISTING WINDOW
BLINDS.
28. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING THE
REQUIREMENTS REGARDING LOCAL PLAN REVIEW, PERMITS, INSPECTIONS, AND FEES.
THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR SUBMITTING ALL REQUIRED
DRAWINGS AND SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS TO THE LOCAL BUILDING OFFICIAL
AND/OR PERMIT DEPARTMENT. ALL REQUIRED LOCAL PERMIT FEES SHALL BE PAID BY
THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR UNLESS STIPULATED OTHERWISE IN THE
OWNER/CONTRACTOR AGREEMENT.
29. NOTE REGARDING PROJECTS WITHIN MARION COUNTY: LOCAL ORDINANCE
REQUIRES ONE SET OF CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS FOR CLASS 1 STRUCTURES, THAT
ARE DESIGNED WITH A FIRE PROTECTION AND LIFE SAFETY SYSTEMS (I.E. FIRE ALARMS),
BE SUBMITTED TO THE INDIANAPOLIS FIRE DEPARTMENT (IFD) FOR THE PURPOSE OF
CONDUCTING A FIRE DEPARTMENT PLAN REVIEW AND ON-SITE INSPECTIONS.
DRAWING SET SHOULD INCLUDE ARCH, STRUCT, MECH, ELEC, SPRINKLER, FIRE ALARM,
AND SITE/CIVIL (WHERE APPLICABLE). DRAWINGS MAY BE DELIVERED OR MAILED TO
THE IFD PLAN REVIEW DIVISION (1200 MADISON AVENUE, INDIANAPOLIS, IN 46225,
ATTENTION: T.J. BURNS). INCLUDE THE DMD STRUCTURAL PERMIT NUMBER (STR-XXXXXX)
WITH THE DRAWING SET. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
COORDINATING THE SUBMISSION OF THESE DRAWINGS AND THE REQUIRED FEE TO THE
IFD PLAN REVIEW DIVISION. CONTACT THE IFD WITH QUESTIONS REGARDING THIS
REQUIREMENT (317-327-5529).
1. ALL WORK SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE EXISTING BUILDING
CONSTRUCTION TYPE AS DEFINED BY SECTION 601 OF THE INDIANA BUILDING CODE .
2. ALL WORK SHALL COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF ALL APPLICABLE STATE
AND LOCAL BUILDING CODES. CONTRACTORS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING
THE CURRENT APPLICABLE BUILDING CODE(S) FOR THEIR RESPECTIVE SCOPE OF
WORK.
3. CONTRACTOR(S) SHALL VISIT THE WORKSITE PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT. THE
DRAWINGS CONTAINED HEREIN MAY NOT BE ALL INCLUSIVE OF EXISTING
CONDITIONS OR NEW WORK REQUIREMENTS. CONTRACTOR(S) SHALL MAKE
THEMSELVES FAMILIAR WITH THE WORKSITE IN THE FIELD IN ORDER TO BE FULLY
AWARE OF THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE SCOPE OF WORK.
4. FIELD VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS AND MEASUREMENTS. INFORM THE GENERAL
CONTRACTOR BEFORE BEGINNING ANY CONSTRUCTION IF EXISTING CONDITIONS
PREVENT OBTAINING RESULTS AS SHOWN OR SPECIFIED. DO NOT SCALE DRAWINGS.
NOTED DIMENSIONS TAKE PRECEDENCE.
5. VERIFY EXISTING CONDITIONS INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS AND REPORT ANY
DISCREPANCY THROUGH THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR TO SCHOTT DESIGN, INC.
6. THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE WITH THE OWNER REGARDING
ALL ON-SITE ACTIVITIES; SUCH AS, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, WORK SCHEDULE, MATERIALS
STORAGE AND HANDLING, DELIVERIES, ACCESS TO THE WORKSITE, TRAFFIC
CONTROL, AND BUILDING/PUBLIC SAFETY PROCEDURES DURING CONSTRUCTION.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ALSO COORDINATE WORK "BY OTHERS" WITH HIS/HER OWN
ACTIVITIES AS NECESSARY TO EXECUTE THE OVERALL PROJECT SCOPE.
7. FOR THOSE ITEMS TO BE ORDERED REQUIRING LEAD TIME, THE CONTRACTOR
SHALL COORDINATE THE PROJECT SCHEDULE ACCORDINGLY AND COMMUNICATE
TO THE OWNER, TENANT, AND SCHOTT DESIGN WHEN DECISIONS MUST BE RENDERED
IN ORDER FOR THE CONTRACTOR TO MEET THE PROJECT SCHEDULE. THE OWNER,
TENANT, OR DESIGNER/ARCHITECT IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DELAYS RESULTING
FROM THE CONTRACTOR'S FAILURE TO COMMUNICATE MATERIAL LEAD TIMES.
8. SUBSTITUTIONS FOR SPECIFICALLY NAMED PRODUCTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED
WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL FROM THE DESIGNER. SUBMIT REQUESTS FOR
SUBSTITUTIONS WITH APPROPRIATE SUPPORT INFORMATION TO THE DESIGNER.
ALLOW REASONABLY SUFFICIENT TIME FOR THE DESIGNER TO REVIEW THE REQUEST
AND RENDER A DECISION.
9. SCHOTT DESIGN, INC., SHALL NOT HAVE CONTROL OVER, OR BE IN CHARGE OF,
AND SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR A CONTRACTOR'S CONSTRUCTION MEANS,
METHODS, SCHEDULES, SEQUENCES, OR SAFETY. THE CONTRACTORS SHALL BE
RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING A SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR WORKERS AND THE
PUBLIC AT ALL TIMES.
10. CONTACT THE DESIGNER IMMEDIATELY IF, IN THE FIELD, CONFLICTS ARE
DISCOVERED BETWEEN COMPONENTS OF DIFFERENT SYSTEMS THAT PREVENT THE
INSTALLATION OF THOSE COMPONENTS AS INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS. (I.E.
WHERE EXISTING MECHANICAL DUCTWORK MAY PREVENT THE INSTALLATION OF
LIGHTING FIXTURES AS INDICATED ON THE CEILING PLAN).
11. SCHOTT DESIGN, INC., IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE IDENTIFICATION, DISCOVERY,
PRESENCE, HANDLING, REMOVAL, DISPOSAL OF, OR EXPOSURE TO ANY PERSONS,
THAT OF HAZARDOUS MATERIALS IN ANY FORM ON THE PROJECT SITE.
12. PROVIDE FIRE-TREATED WOOD BLOCKING IN WALLS FOR ALL WALL HUNG ITEMS
INCLUDING MILLWORK, WALL STOPS, CABINETRY, ETC.
13. SHOP DRAWINGS OR CATALOG CUTS MUST BE SUBMITTED TO SCHOTT DESIGN,
INC. FOR APPROVAL ON ALL MATERIALS OR ITEMS WHERE THE CONTRACTOR
CHOOSES TO DEVIATE FROM WHAT IS SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS, OR IF THE
DRAWINGS DO NOT INDICATE A SPECIFIC MANUFACTURER OR MODEL NUMBER.
14. EXPEDITE PREPARATION AND SUBMITTAL OF ALL SHOP DRAWINGS TO ALLOW
SUFFICIENT TIME FOR CHECKING, APPROVAL, ORDERING, FABRICATION, AND
DELIVERY OF MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT.
15. ENSURE THAT ALL MATERIALS AND LABOR ARE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE BEST
QUALITY STANDARDS OF EACH RESPECTIVE TRADE WHETHER SPECIFIED OR NOT. THE
GENERAL CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING THAT ALL WORK IS IN
ACCORDANCE WITH ALL FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL BUILDING CODES, AND
STANDARDS FOR GENERAL, MECHANICAL, AND ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION.
GENERAL PROJECT NOTES
1. ALL MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL, PLUMBING, FIRE SUPPRESSION, AND
FIRE ALARM SYSTEMS SHALL BE DESIGNED AND INSTALLED BY THE
RESPECTIVE DESIGN/BUILD CONTRACTORS PER AGREEMENT WITH THE
OWNER. ALL TRADES SHALL DESIGN AND INSTALL THEIR RESPECTIVE
SYSTEMS IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE STATE AND LOCAL
BUILDING CODES. COORDINATE WITH THE ARCHITECT IF ADDITIONAL
INFORMATION IS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO DO THE WORK IN THE FIELD.
SCHOTT DESIGN, INC. DOES NOT HAVE CHARGE OR RESPONSIBILITY FOR
THE DESIGN OR INSTALLATION OF SYSTEMS EXECUTED AS DESIGN/BUILD

2. H.V.A.C. WORK GENERALLY INDICATED BY THIS DRAWING IS TO BE
PROVIDED BY DESIGN/BUILD SERVICES UNDER THE GENERAL CONTRACT.
PROVIDE A FUNCTIONAL, COMFORTABLE ENVIRONMENT AND A
COMPLETE, WORKING SYSTEM. COMPLY WITH THE INDIANA
MECHANICAL CODE AND ALL OTHER APPLICABLE CODES.
3. VERIFY HEAT LOADS OF ANY SPECIAL EQUIPMENT IN THE TENANT
SPACE, AND PROVIDE ADDITIONAL AIR FLOW IF REQUIRED. CONFIRM
WITH OWNER PRIOR TO ANY PURCHASE OF NEW EQUIPMENT. REVISE
ZONING IF REQUIRED. DO NOT DESIGN ANY SINGLE OFFICE SPACE TO BE
ON A SPLIT ZONE UNLESS APPROVED BY BUILDING OWNER/LANDLORD.
4. RELOCATE AIR-SUPPLY DIFFUSERS AND RETURN-AIR GRILLES AS
REQUIRED. PROVIDE PROPER AIR SUPPLY FOR DIFFUSERS AND RETURN AIR
FROM RETURN AIR GRILLES. LOCATION OF DIFFUSERS SHOWN ON PLAN IS
FOR REFERENCE ONLY. CONTRACTOR IS TO PLACE LOCATION OF
DIFFUSERS AND RETURN AIR GRILLES AS REQUIRED BY CODE.
5. POSITION LOCATION OF ALL THERMOSTATS WHERE APPROPRIATE PER
MECHANICAL DESIGN. COORDINATE WITH TENANT AND BUILDING
OWNER FOR FURNITURE PANEL OR OTHER CONFLICTS.
6. ELECTRIC POWER WORK GENERALLY INDICATED BY THIS DRAWING IS
TO BE PROVIDED BY DESIGN/BUILD SERVICES UNDER THE GENERAL
CONTRACT. PROVIDE A COMPLETE, WORKING SYSTEM.
7. COMPLY WITH THE INDIANA ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL CODE
AND ALL OTHER APPLICABLE CODES.

11. PROVIDE COLORED FACEPLATES FOR ELECTRICAL OUTLETS &
SWITCHPLATES TO MATCH EXISTING, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
ELECTRICIAN TO FIELD VERIFY PRIOR TO PURCHASE.
12. PROVIDE JUNCTION BOXES OR POWER POLES AT WORKSTATIONS
WHERE SHOWN. REFER TO THE PLAN FOR THE APPROPRIATE
DESIGNATIONS. DATA WILL BE RUN BY THE TENANT'S DATA VENDOR.
ELECTRICIAN TO MAKE FINAL CONNECTION FROM WORKSTATION WHIP

TO RUNNING ELECTRICAL CONDUITS TO JUNCTION BOXES.
14. ELECTRIC LIGHTING WORK GENERALLY INDICATED BY THIS DRAWING
IS TO BE PROVIDED BY DESIGN/BUILD SERVICES UNDER THE GENERAL
CONTRACT. PROVIDE A COMPLETE, FUNCTIONAL SYSTEM.
15. VERIFY EXISTING LIGHTING CIRCUITING. SIZE NEW CIRCUITS AS
REQUIRED. PROVIDE NEW OR REVISE EXISTING CIRCUITING FOR NEW
LAYOUT OF LIGHT FIXTURES.
16. ENSURE THAT ALL MOUNTING HEIGHTS OF ELECTRICAL DEVICES MEET
A.D.A. REQUIREMENTS.
17. WHERE MULTIPLE SWITCHES ARE SHOWN, PROVIDE (1) GANG BOX
WITH A SINGLE COVERPLATE.
18. CENTER CEILING ELEMENTS IN CEILING TILES, INCLUDING RECESSED
DOWNLIGHTS, SMOKE DETECTORS, SPRINKLER HEADS, AND EXIT SIGNS
UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
19. PROVIDE EMERGENCY LIGHTING IN TENANT SPACE AS REQUIRED PER
NEMA AND IBC. EMERGENCY BATTERY PACKS OR LIGHTS CONNECTED
TO AN EMERGENCY POWER SOURCE ARE REQUIRED IF THE SPACE
CONTAINS 50 PERSONS OR MORE. FIXTURES SHOWN ON PLAN ARE FOR

20. PROVIDE ALARM NOTIFICATION APPLIANCES (HORNS/STROBES),
EMERGENCY SPEAKERS, SMOKE DETECTORS, FIRE PULLS, AND ANY OTHER
REQUIRED ALARM & DETECTION SYSTEMS AS NECESSARY TO MEET ALL
APPLICABLE CODES (INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CODE, INTERNATIONAL
FIRE CODE, NFPA).
21. COORDINATE WITH THE OWNER/TENANT PRIOR TO INSTALLATION OF
FIRE DETECTION DEVICES REGARDING ALL DEVICE LOCATIONS TO AVOID
CONFLICT WITH FEATURE WALLS (CONFERENCE ROOMS AND RECEPTION
AREAS) AND TENANT-INSTALLED ITEMS (I.E. PRESENTATION BOARDS, A/V
EQUIPMENT AND PROJECTION SCREENS).
22. IF REQUIRED, AND AS NECESSARY, PROVIDE NEW BALLASTS AND
LAMPS IN ALL LIGHTS IN EXISTING SPACES. CONSULT WITH LANDLORD.
MECHANICAL &
ELECTRICAL NOTES
1. FIRE PROTECTION WORK IS TO BE PROVIDED BY DESIGN/BUILD
SERVICES UNDER THE GENERAL CONTRACT. PROVIDE A COMPLETE,
WORKING SYSTEM. SCHOTT DESIGN, INC., IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE
DESIGN, INSTALLATION, OR RENOVATION OF THE FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEM.
2. THE DESIGN/BUILD CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLY WITH THE INDIANA
BUILDING CODE, THE INDIANA FIRE CODE, AND ALL OTHER APPLICABLE
LAWS, CODES, RULES AND REGULATIONS THAT APPLY TO DESIGN AND
INSTALLATION OF FIRE SPRINKLER/FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS.
3. THE FIRE PROTECTION CONTRACTOR SHALL GENERATE ALL REQUIRED
DRAWINGS, AND SHALL FILE THOSE DRAWINGS, AND RELATED
DOCUMENTS, WITH THE STATE AND LOCAL AUTHORITIES HAVING
JURISDICTION OVER THE PROJECT.
4. PROVIDE NEW OR RELOCATE EXISTING SPRINKLER HEADS AS
REQUIRED. PROVIDE MISSING COVER/ESCUTCHEON PLATES FOR
SPRINKLER HEADS WHERE APPLICABLE. FIELD VERIFY EXISTING
CONDITIONS PRIOR TO THE START OF WORK.
5. FIRE EXTINGUISHERS: CONTRACTOR TO ENSURE ALL NEW AND
EXISTING FIRE EXTINGUISHERS ARE INSTALLED ACCORDING TO NFPA 10.
COORDINATE WITH OWNER/LANDLORD ON EXTINGUISHER TYPE AND
HOUSING. MAXIMUM TRAVEL DISTANCE OF 75 FEET FROM ANY POINT TO
A VISIBLE EXTINGUISHER.
FIRE PROTECTION NOTES
1. ALL FINISHES SHALL COMPLY WITH CHAPTER 8 (INTERIOR FINISHES) OF THE
INDIANA BUILDING CODE FOR CLASS A FIRE RATINGS.
2. FOR ALL NEW DRYWALL INSTALLATIONS, INSTALL AS RECOMMENDED BY THE
GYPSUM ASSOCIATION. (SUCH AS, CONTROL JOINTS, FINISH LEVELS, FASTENERS,
TAPING DETAILS, CORNER BEADS, ETC.)
2. ALL NEW PLATES AND SWITCHES ARE TO MATCH EXISTING COLOR, UNLESS
OTHERWISE NOTED. REMOVE ALL PLATES BEFORE PAINTING AND REATTACH
AFTERWARDS. CONTRACTOR TO CONFIRM EXISTING COLOR PRIOR TO
PURCHASING NEW.

FINISH NOTES

2. UNLESS INDICATED OTHERWISE, COMPLY WITH ARCHITECTURAL WOODWORK INSTITUTE

3. FURNISH SHOP DRAWINGS ON ALL MILLWORK AND CASEWORK FOR APPROVAL BY THE

5. VERIFY FINISHES (LAMINATE, VENEER, STAINS, ETC.) ON THE SECTIONS AND ELEVATION
DRAWINGS WITH FINISHES INDICATED ON THE FINISH PLAN/SCHEDULES. IMMEDIATELY
REPORT ANY DISCREPANCIES TO SCHOTT DESIGN THROUGH THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR.

MILL/CASEWORK NOTES
1. COORDINATE DEMOLITION WITH NEW WORK CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS IN ORDER TO
DETERMINE THE FULL EXTENT OF NECESSARY DEMOLITION.
2. NO STRUCTURAL OR LOAD-BEARING CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE REMOVED, DEMOLISHED, OR
DAMAGED AS A RESULT OF THIS PROJECT UNLESS SPECIFICALLY NOTED OTHERWISE ON THE
DRAWINGS. PROTECT ALL EXISTING STRUCTURAL MEMBERS DURING DEMOLITION/CONSTRUCTION.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY IN THE FIELD, PRIOR TO DEMOLITION, THAT ALL ITEMS NOTED TO BE
DEMOLISHED ARE NOT STRUCTURAL. CONTACT SCHOTT DESIGN IMMEDIATELY IF THE
CONTRACTOR(S) IN THE FIELD SUSPECT THAT AN ITEM NOTED FOR DEMOLITION APPEARS TO BE
STRUCTURAL OR OTHERWISE LOAD-BEARING. BEWARE OF STRUCTURAL COLUMNS AND/OR BEAMS
THAT MAY BE CONCEALED BEHIND FINISHES THAT ARE NOTED FOR REMOVAL. EXERCISE CAUTION
WHEN DEMOLISHING BUILDING FINISHES OR PARTITIONS ADJACENT TO OR AROUND STRUCTURAL
MEMBERS. THE CONTRACTOR IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR INADVERTENT DAMAGE TO THE
BUILDING STRUCTURAL SYSTEM.
3. PRIOR TO DEMOLITION, COORDINATE WITH THE OWNER IN THE FIELD REGARDING THOSE ITEMS
THAT MAY BE REMOVED AND REUSED. CONFIRM WITH THE OWNER THOSE ITEMS THE OWNER
CHOOSES TO RETAIN FROM DEMOLITION, AND THOSE ITEMS OF WHICH THE OWNER CHOOSES TO
DISPOSE. COMPLY WITH THE OWNER'S REQUESTS.
4. WHERE EQUIPMENT, FIXTURES, OR FINISHES ARE MOVED FROM ANY OTHER PART OF THE
BUILDING TO BE REUSED IN THE PROJECT AREA, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL INCLUDE IN THEIR SCOPE
OF WORK ANY NECESSARY PATCHING OR REPAIRING OF THE REMAINING AREAS FROM WHERE THE
ITEMS WERE RELOCATED, UNLESS OTHERWISE DIRECTED BY OWNER.
5. REMOVE ALL EXISTING WALLS AND DOORS WHERE INDICATED BY NOTE, SYMBOL, OR DASHED
LINES. NOTE THAT SOME ITEMS HAVE NOT BEEN SHOWN ON DEMOLITION PLAN. VISIT AREA OF
WORK TO ASSURE EXTENT OF DEMOLITION.
6. REMOVE ALL CARPET, VINYL BASE, VCT, WALL FABRIC, AND ANY OTHER FINISHES AS REQUIRED
FOR NEW CONSTRUCTION. CONTRACTOR TO FIELD VERIFY EXISTING CONDITIONS. REFER TO FINISH
PLAN/SCHEDULE FOR CLARIFICATION OF EXISTING FINISHES TO REMAIN.
DEMOLITION NOTES
7. REMOVE ALL ELECTRICAL OUTLETS AND CONDUCTORS AS REQUIRED OR INDICATED. SALVAGE
OUTLETS FOR REUSE IN NEW CONSTRUCTION.
8. REFER TO DEMOLITION PLAN AND REFLECTED CEILING PLAN LEGEND FOR CEILING GRID INSTRUCTIONS.
9. USE CARE TO PROTECT EXISTING BUILDING ELEMENTS INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS TO REMAIN SUCH
AS, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, EXISTING CEILING GRID, TILES, FIRE SUPPRESSION EQUIPMENT, DIFFUSERS, LIGHT
FIXTURES, EQUIPMENT, CASEWORK, AND FINISHES. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REPLACE AND/OR REPAIR, AT
THE CONTRACTOR'S COST, ANY SUCH ELEMENTS DAMAGED DURING CONSTRUCTION THAT COULD HAVE
OTHERWISE BEEN REASONABLY PROTECTED AND MAINTAINED IN GOOD CONDITION FOR THE OWNER'S

10. PER THE INDIANA ELECTRICAL CODE (SPREAD OF FIRE OR PRODUCTS OF COMBUSTION) REMOVE ALL
ACCESSIBLE PORTIONS OF ABANDONED CABLES AND WIRING INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: DATA
WIRING, COMMUNICATIONS WIRING, FIRE ALARM CABLES, AUDIO CABLES, COAXIAL CABLES, FIBER OPTIC
CABLES/RACEWAYS, AND PLTC CABLES. REFER TO SECTION 300.21.
11. WHERE FIXTURES OR EQUIPMENT ARE REMOVED FROM ANY ELECTRICAL, PLUMBING, MECHANICAL,
OR VOICE/DATA SYSTEMS, ALL REMAINING TERMINATIONS SHALL BE CLOSED AND PROTECTED IN STRICT
ACCORDANCE WITH INDUSTRY STANDARDS AND GOVERNING SAFETY REGULATIONS OR PROCEDURES.
