SUBDIVISION COMMITTEE
DEPARTMENT REPORT
MAY 4, 2011
3. Docket No. 11040008 ADLS Amend: 10450 N. College Ave. Signage.
The applicant seeks approval for a new sign package for an existing building. The site is located at 10450 N.
College Ave. and is zoned B -1 within the Home Place Business District. Filed by Nancy VanMeter of Contour
Acquisitions LLC.
The applicant seeks approval for a new sign package for an existing building. The building has room for 3,
possibly 4 tenants. The applicant is proposing signage to be placed on the gables of the building. There are
three: two small ones and a larger one in the center of the building. A new tenant is moving in and has requested
signage. This sign for Adel's is shown in your packets. The sign package calls for the signs to be non
illuminated pin mounted black letters. The size will go by the Sign Ordinance and the confines of the gables.
The applicant does not plan to install lighting at this time. But if they were to install it in the future, it would
most likely be lights that shine down onto the letters and are hidden under the overhang. Another option they
are considering is up- lighting the sign from below. But again, there are no plans to light the signs at this time.
Recommendation:
After all continents /concerns are addressed, the Dept of Community Services (DOCS) recommends positive consideration
of Docket No. 11040008 ADLS Amend.
