A recent site inspection was performed by this Department on March 3, 2010, in response to complaints regarding the maintenance and safety of the structure/property. This inspection revealed several property maintenance/ordinance violations. These violations included: Attic louvered vent panel missing, missing siding, missing/deteriorated gutters and downspouts, deteriorated gutter board, peeling paint on trim, exterior door(s) not weather-tight/water-tight, large piles of trash and debris, downed trees on the property. These deficiencies violate the provisions of the Carmel City Code, § 6-79 Public Nuisances Affecting Peace and Safety, § 6-220 Administration of the Property Maintenance Code, § 6-159 Unsafe Building Regulations, as well as § 6-77 Public Health Nuisance. The City of Cannel seeks your voluntary compliance with the Carmel City code. In order to address and resolve the deficiencies it is critical that you or your representative initiate continuous repairs and improvements to the structure/property by May 23, 2010. Please have all downed/dead trees and trash/debris removed by May 6, 2010. Failure to secure the property by the specified time will result in the City securing the structure(s) and billing the property owner for contractor and administrative costs. Demolition of the structures on the property is also an option, and Building and Code Services can help secure the necessary permit(s) for razing the structure(s). The City also reserves the right to abate the dead/downed tree(s), and trash/debris issues which would result in the property owner or property owner representative being billed for the cost of the contractor and City administrative fees.
