§6-222 (c) (1): General. The exterior of a structure shall be maintained in good repair,
structurally sound, and sanitary so as not to pose a threat to the public health, safety, or
welfare.
§6-222 (c) (6) Roofs and drainage. The roof and flashing shall be sound, tight and not have
defects that admit rain. Roof drainage shall be adequate to prevent dampness or
deterioration in the walls or interior portion of the structure. Roof drains, gutters and
down spouts shall be maintained in good repair and free from obstructions. Roof
Drain discharges shall be discharged as a Legal Connection or a Legal Discharge.
Inappropriate or temporary roofing coverings including but not limited to tarps shall be
deemed inadequate protection and not uniform and as such shall be prohibited for a period
exceeding seven (7) consecutive days.
(c) Requirement to cut. All owners of real property ("property') located within the City shall
( cut and remove weeds and other rank vegetation growing thereon that exceeds an average
height of six inches, and shall keep their property clear of debris; And, Carmel City Code,
§6-77(k), which construes the following conditions to be public health nuisances:
(k) Any accumulation of junk, rubbish, crap metal, automotive parts, building
matenah, machinery, dead trees, or parts thereof, upon any premises in a
residential area.
The 6ty of Carmel does appreciate the efforts you have made to improve the condition of
the property, however if a more concentrated effort to bring this property into compliance is
not made by August 20'h2010, further Enforcement action by the City of Carmel will be taken,
to include City abatement (to which property owner is billed), and / or the issuance of daily
citations as long as the violations persist (which also requires a mandatory appearance in Carmel
City Court).

RE: PROPERTY MAINTENANCE CODE VIOLATION
Dear Mr. Whiddon:
This letter is being provided to inform you that the property at 79 Harmony Rd. a
property listed under your ownership is in violation of the following Carmel City Codes.
§6-222 (c) (1): General. The exterior of a structure shall be maintained in good repair,
structurally sound, and sanitary so as not to pose a threat to the public health, safety, or
welfare.
§6-222 (c) (6) Roofs and drainage. The roof and flashing shall be sound, tight and not have
defects that admit rain. Roof drainage shall be adequate to prevent dampness or
deterioration in the walls or interior portion of the structure. Roof drains, gutters and
down spouts shall be maintained in good repair and free from obstructions. Roof
Drain discharges shall be discharged as a Legal Connection or a Legal Discharge.
Inappropriate or temporary roofing coverings including but not limited to tarps shall be
deemed inadequate protection and not uniform and as such shall be prohibited for a period
exceeding seven (7) consecutive days.
