5. Docket No. .11050001 Amend: `Shoppes at Weston Pointe Awnings.
The applicant seeks approval for new awnings on the existing building. The site is located at 11145 N.
Michigan Rd. and is zoned B -2 /Business within the US 421 Overlay Zone. Filed by Richard Gould of
Midwest Realty Services on behalf of the land owner.
The applicant seeks approval to install two new awnings over two tenant spaces on the building. Suites 100 and
150, State Farm and Moody's Butcher Shop, which are on each ends of the building will get the new awnings. The
awnings will be maroon in color and will not have any signage installed on them. The purpose of the awnings is to
add shade for the tenants. There are no plans for seating to be installed under the awnings. Please view the

Recommendation:
After all comments /concerns are addressed, the Dept of Community Services (DOCS) recommends positive
consideration of Docket No. 11050001 ADLS Amend.

6. Docket No. 11050015 ADLS Amend: Tom Wood Collision Center Signage
The applicant seeks approval for two new signs: one ground and one wall sign north west elevations of
the building. The site is located at 9727 N. Bauer Dr. and is zoned B -3 /Business, NOT within any Overlay
Zones. Filed by Larry Heid of Tom Wood Management.
The applicant seeks approval for two new signs. A new ground sign will replace an existing ground sign next to the
entrance to the building. This sign will be-5' tall and 50 sq. ft. overall. The sign area is only 20.83 sq. ft. 75 sq. ft. is
allowed by the Sign Ordinance. The sign will be silver with blue lettering and accents. The logo and letters will be
internally illuminated. Please view the petitioner's information packet for further detail.
The wall sign will be installed on the south elevation of the building, over the entry to the new Collision Center.
The wall sign will be 65.33 sq. ft.; the Sign Ordinance allows up to 105 sq. ft. It is internally illuminated channel
letters. There will also be two smaller signs over the garage doors that say "Estimates" and will be less than 3 sq. ft.
in area; and this is allowed by the Sign Ordinance.
Recommendation:
After all comments /concerns are addressed, the Dept of Community Services (DOCS) recommends positive
consideration of Docket No. 11050015 ADLS Amend.
