General Information and as for Making Plans for IMLA 's Annual
Conference in Chicago
Planning is underway at IMLA headquarters to make the 76th Annual Conference in Chicago the best yet! Before
you register for the Conference (using the link menus on the left side of this page), please read this section for some
basic guidance.
Conference Registration vs. Add -On Programming
IMLA's 76th Annual Conference officially starts at 9:00am on Sunday, September 11 and will conclude by Noon on
Wednesday, September 14th. Your Conference registration includes all CLE programming on Sunday, Monday
(including Canadian Department meeting), Tuesday, and Wednesday, EXCEPT the Sunday afternoon Mobile Land
Use Workshop (separate registration required). Your Conference registration also includes access to our Opening
Reception, which will be at Navy Pier, and our Confernece luncheons on Monday and Tuesday.
IMLA also offers "Add -On" Programming, consisting of: 1) Code Enforcement Program and 2) Institute for Local
Government Lawyers, BOTH ADD -ON PROGRAMS WILL START ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 10th. Both these
Add -On Programs require separate registration.
Hotel and Travel Information
The official Conference Hotel is the Hilton Chicago, located in the heart of Chicago at 720 South Michigan
Avenue. IMLA has secured a block of sleeping rooms and a special room rate at the Hilton Chicago Hotel, a first
class facility, in Chicago, IL. The IMLA room rate is $269 for a single or a double, also these rates are subject to
applicable state and local taxes.
In order to secure this block of specially priced sleeping rooms and to keep meeting costs to a minimum, IMLA has
entered into a total meeting package and contract with the Hilton Chicago Hotel. If you choose to make your sleeping
room reservations outside the IMLA group block, such as through an Internet reservation system or with a discount
coupon, we need to advise you that IMLA can suffer significant financial penalties. IMLA can be held financially
responsible for the attrition or difference between what was promised in the group block and what was actually
utilized.
To allow IMLA to continue to provide a reasonable seminar registration fee, we need your help in limiting our
financial exposure. Reservations may be made by calling the Hilton Chicago directly at (312) 922 -4400 or the loll
free reservation number at 1- 800- HILTONS. In order to receive the preferred room rate you must identify yourself as
