DEPARTMENT REPORT
AUGUST 2, 2011
1. Docket No. 11070012 ADLS Amend: Fifth Third Bank Signage
The applicant seeks approval to replace two existing wall signs with the new design/branding.
The site is located at 10215 N. Michigan Rd. and is zoned B -3 /Business. It is located within the US 421 Overlay
Zone. Filed by Don Miller of A Sign By Design on behalf of the owner.
The Applicant is seeking approval to change existing wall signs to a new design. The current signs are white letters with a
blue and white logo and a red line under the name. The new design is the blue and white logo with a green edge and a
green arch coming out both sides of the logo. The sign on the south elevation will also have the name, Fifth Third Bank,
written out in blue copy. These signs are considered 100% logo sign. This is allowed for this building because it is a
single tenant building.
The west facing sign is 34.5 sq. ft., 40 is allowed by the Sign Ordinance. The south facing sign is 70.8 sq. ft., 75 is
allowed. There will also be other changes around the site: window vinyl, emergency signs, night depository, ATM,
Clearance, directional and parking signs. The Department would ask that the Applicant reduce the total number of
Do Not Enter signs for the drive thru canopy. The information can be adequately displayed with less signs. The
Department would also like more information and images on the ATM signage. Staff needs to make sure that it is 3
sq. ft. or less and know for sure what we are approving.
Please view the petitioner's informational packet for further detail.
