The following is the requested tree inventory for the North Meridian Heights neighborhood
located in Carmel, Indiana. A total of three hundred eighteen (318) trees comprised of forty
one (41) species were inventoried. These trees possess a total of six thousand six hundred
thirty -eight (6638) diameter inches. It should be noted that generally trees with a diameter of
six (6) inches or greater were included in this inventory.
There are ten (10) tree species that comprise over 77% of the total trees on the property. The
most common species are: Silver Maple (Acer saccharinum), Norway Spruce (Picea abies),
Crabapple (Ma /us sp.), Sugar Maple (Acer saccharum), Eastern Redbud (Cercis canadensis),
White Mulberry (Morus aiba), White Pine (Pinus strobus), Tuliptree (Liriodendron tuiipifera),
Pear (Pyrus sp.), and Siberian Elm (Uimus pumiia).
The property is a residential subdivision, with the vast majority of the trees in this inventory
being landscape plantings. Silver Maple is by far the most common tree in this area comprising
over 36% of the trees counted.
